Islamist Dictionary for Infidels

Andrew G. Bostom, author of “The Legacy of Jihad,” notes that President Bush has repeatedly stressed the paramount importance of promoting freedom in the Middle East.
However, Bostom points out that Hurriyya, the Arabic for “freedom,” and the uniquely Western concept of freedom “are completely at odds.” Hurriyya - “freedom” - is – as Ibn Arabi (d.
1240) the lionized “Greatest Sufi Master,” expressed it -“perfect slavery” under the will of Allah. Bernard Lewis, in his analysis of hurriyya for the venerated Encyclopedia of Islam, maintains that:
“…there is still no idea that the subjects have any right to share in the formation or conduct of government—to political freedom, or citizenship, in the sense which underlies the development of political thought in the West.”
Meanwhile, the German- Syrian scholar Bassam Tibi, a Muslim reformist, is warning the West against wishful thinking in its “dialogue” with Muslims. “The dialogue is not proceeding well because of the two-facedness of most Muslim interlocutors on the one hand and the gullibility of well-meaning Western idealists on the other.”
Muslims frequently claim, to obscure the realities of the war against non-Muslims, that “Islam means peace.” The word “Islam” does indeed come from the same three-letter Arabic root (s-l-m) as the word “salaam,” peace.
“Islam,” however, means “submission,” not peace. “Peace” in Islam equals submission to the will of Allah through his divine and eternal law, sharia. The absence of sharia is the absence of peace. Bassam Tibi explains:
“First, both sides should acknowledge candidly that although they might use identical terms these mean different things to each of them. The word ‘peace,’ for example, implies to a Muslim the extension of the Dar al-Islam – or ‘House of Islam’ – to the entire world,” explained Tibi.
“This is completely different from the Enlightenment concept of eternal peace that dominates Western thought, a concept developed by Immanuel Kant,” an 18th-century philosopher.
“Similarly, when Muslims and the Western heirs of the Enlightenment speak of tolerance they have different things in mind. In Islamic terminology, this term implies abiding non-Islamic monotheists, such as Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians, as second-class believers.
They are ‘dhimmi,’ a protected but politically immature minority.” According to Tibi, the quest of converting the entire world to Islam is an immutable fixture of the Muslim worldview. Only if this task is accomplished, if the world has become a “Dar al-Islam,” will it also be a “Dar a-Salam,” or a house of peace.”
This strategy of deceiving non-Muslims by twisting words to conceal the real, Islamic agenda while Muslims are not yet strong enough to impose their will is sanctioned by Islamic texts.
IslamOnline quotes Sheikh `Atiyyah Saqr, former head of Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee, in stating:
“Lying is forbidden unless it is for necessity. In that case, the principle “necessity makes the unlawful permissible” applies. (…)
Some of these acceptable lies is what we call connotation, a word
carrying a double meaning. The Muslim may use the positive not the negative interpretation of the word.”
Robert Spencer, who gives examples of this in his book “Onward Muslim Soldiers,” confirms this:
“Religious deception of unbelievers is indeed taught by the Qur’an itself: “Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers. If any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah; except by way of precaution, that ye may guard yourselves from them” (Qur’an 3:28).
In other words, don’t make friends with unbelievers except to “guard yourselves from them”: pretend to be their friends so that you can strengthen yourself against them. The distinguished Qur’anic commentator Ibn Kathir explains that this verse teaches that if “believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers,” they may “show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly.”
This strategy seems to be working quite well with the dhimmis of the European Union, who are now promoting an official dictionary to use when writing about matters related to Islam.
“Jihad means something for you and me, it means something else for a Muslim. Jihad is a perfectly positive concept of trying to fight evil within yourself,” said an EU official. Really? Writing over six decades ago, Arthur Jeffery belittled as “the sheerest sophistry” such attempts to rewrite the bloody reality of Jihad:
“.. .the early Arabic sources quite plainly and frankly describe the expeditions as military expeditions, and it would never have occurred to anyone at that day to interpret them as anything else…”
Armed Jihad is not just a thing of the past. Observers of school textbooks in Egypt of the present age note that “[the] concept of jihad is interpreted in the Egyptian school curriculum almost exclusively as a military endeavour.”
Majid Khadduri, a Muslim scholar, whose 1955 treatise on Jihad remains one of the most respected analyses of this institution, summarized these consensus views, as follows:
“The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have declared ‘some of my people will continue to fight victoriously for the sake of the truth until the last one of them will combat the anti-Christ.’ Until that moment is reached the jihad, in one form or another will remain as a permanent obligation upon the entire Muslim community. It follows that the existence of a dar al-harb is ultimately outlawed under the Islamic jural order; that the dar al-Islam is permanently under jihad obligation until the dar al-harb is reduced to non-existence (…)
The universality of Islam, in its all embracing creed, is imposed on the believers as a continuous process of warfare, psychological and political if not strictly military.”
An observer of Egyptian schoolbooks notes that: “Peace in general is exalted in the Egyptian school textbooks, both as a human and as an Islamic value. It is declared to be Egypt’s goal.
But when examined more deeply, it turns out to be a conditional value, both on the political and religious levels. On the political level peace is made conditional upon reciprocity on the part of the enemy, which is interpreted as acceptance of the Arabs’ demands.
On the religious level, peace is conditional upon the interests of the Muslims at any given moment. If the Muslims are stronger than the enemy, peace may be legally rejected. The meaning of peace in itself – as presented to the Egyptian students – does not exclude war, and this reaches the point, in several cases, of advocating war in the name of peace.”
In 2006, Iraqi religious scholar Ayatollah Ahmad Husseini Al-Baghdadi explained that Jihad, from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, is of two types: Not just defensive warfare if somebody attacks Muslims in their own lands, but also “Jihad initiated by the Muslims, which means raiding the world in order to spread the word that “there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah” throughout the world.”
In other words: The ultimate objective of Jihad isn’t merely to preserve Islam at home, but to spread it throughout the world when Muslims are in a position to do so: “If the objective and subjective circumstances materialize, and there are soldiers, weapons, and money - even if this means using biological, chemical, and bacterial weapons - we will conquer the world, so that “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah” will be triumphant over the domes of Moscow, Washington, and Paris.”
Contemporary Muslim theologians such as Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, “spiritual” leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and popular Al-Jazeera television personality, hailed as a moderate voice by some in the West, sanction bombings against all Israeli citizens using Jihad criteria completely in line with those by classical jurists.
He argues that in modern war there are no civilians, as all sectors of society aid the efforts if the country is involved in confrontation with Muslims in some way. Which also means that all non-Muslim citizens become legitimate targets of Islamic attacks. Qaradawi says:
“It has been determined by Islamic law that the blood and property of people of Dar Al-Harb [the Domain of Disbelief where the battle for the domination of Islam should be waged] is not protected…in modern war, all of society, with all its classes and ethnic groups, is mobilized to participate in the war, to aid its continuation, and to provide it with the material and human fuel required for it to assure the victory of the state fighting its enemies.”
Needless to say, this line of thinking could easily be used by Islamic groups to justify terror attacks such as the ones on the World Trade Center in New York City. In their eyes, they didn’t kill innocent civilians since there are no innocent civilians in the USA.
This should be kept in mind when listening to “moderate” Muslim leaders smiling and declaring that Islam is strongly against killing innocent civilians. Indeed, there are some Muslims who would argue that ALL non-Muslims, at least those who have on some point heard the Islamic message and still failed to convert, are guilty of rebellion against Allah and thus fair game.
An undercover investigation caught leaders of a radical Islamic group in the UK inciting young British Muslims to become terrorists. One of their leaders declared it was imperative for Muslims to “instil terror into the hearts of the kuffar” and added: “I am a terrorist. As a Muslim of course I am a terrorist.”
In public interviews the same man had condemned the killing of all innocent civilians. Later when he addressed his own followers he explained that he had in fact been referring only to Muslims as only they were innocent: “Yes I condemn killing any innocent people, but not any kuffar (infidels).”
A group of American Islamic leaders announced a fatwa, or Islamic religious ruling, against “terrorism and extremism.” An organization called the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) issued the fatwa, and the Council on American - Islamic Relations (CAIR) organized the press conference, stating that several major U.S. Muslim groups endorsed the fatwa. However, according to terrorism expert Steven Emerson, the fatwa was bogus:
“It does not renounce nor even acknowledge the existence of an Islamic jihadist culture that has permeated mosques and young Muslims around the world. It does not renounce Jihad let alone admit that it has been used to justify Islamic terrorist acts.”
After the terror bombings in London in July 2005, perpetrated by Muslims, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) declared that “Islam considers the use of terrorism to be unacceptable for any purpose,” There’s only one problem with this: It’s not true.
Muhammad himself said that “I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy)” (Bukhari, 4, 52, 220). The Koran, too, repeatedly calls for the use of this tactics, such as in verse 8, 12: “When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”
Andrew Bostom, who has studied the history of Jihad on three continents for more than one thousand years, says that “terrorism was often a prelude to conquest.” Terrorism is psychological warfare, to make the non-Muslims scared of Muslims, soften their resistance and prevent them from mounting a real defense of their lands when Muslims later wage a full-scale war to colonize and subdue them.
Physical attacks such as the terror bombings in Madrid or London, but also the great frenzy whipped up over the rather innocent cartoons of Muhammad in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, should all be viewed in this light.
According to scholar Bassam Tibi, “at its core, Islam is a religious mission to all humanity. Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world. “We have sent you forth to all mankind” (Q. 34:28).
If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call (da’wa) can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. In Islam, peace requires that non-Muslims submit to the call of Islam, either by converting or by accepting the status of a religious minority (dhimmi) and paying the imposed poll tax, jizya.”
Interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, Hassam El-Masalmeh from Palestinian Jihadist organization Hamas confirmed the organization’s plan to re-institute the humiliating jizya, a blood ransom poll-tax (based on Qur’an sura 9, verse 29), levied traditionally on non-Muslims vanquished by Jihad. Arabic lexicographer E.W. Lane, based on a careful analysis of the term, states that: “The tax that is taken from the free non-Muslim subjects of a Muslim government whereby they ratify the compact that assures them protection, as though it were compensation for not being slain.”
This subjugation of non-Muslims to religious apartheid and second class citizenship in their own country is part and parcel of sharia, Islamic law. And this option is only available to Christians and Jews, not Hindus, Buddhists or others, who have only the choice between embracing Islam or death.
Muslims feel ”oppressed” when they can’t fully practice their religious laws in the West. But since these laws ultimately require the subjugation of non-Muslims, “freedom of religion” for Muslims essentially means the freedom to make others unfree.
According to Tibi, “world peace, the final stage of the da’wa (call to embrace Islam), is reached only with the conversion or submission of all mankind to Islam…Muslims believe that expansion through war is not aggression but a fulfillment of the Qur’anic command to spread Islam as a way to peace.
The resort to force to disseminate Islam is not war (harb), a word that is used only to describe the use of force by non-Muslims. Islamic wars are not hurub (the plural of harb) but rather futuhat, acts of “opening” the world to Islam and expressing Islamic jihad.
Relations between dar al-Islam, the home of peace, and dar al-harb, the world of unbelievers, nevertheless take place in a state of war, according to the Qur’an and to the authoritative commentaries of Islamic jurists.
Unbelievers who stand in the way, creating obstacles for the da’wa, are blamed for this state of war, for the da’wa can be pursued peacefully if others submit to it. In other words, those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them.
Only when Muslim power is weak is “temporary truce” (hudna) allowed (Islamic jurists differ on the definition of “temporary”).”
These words are mirrored in the ideas of many Islamic groups today. “[President] Bush says that we want to enslave people and oppress their freedom of speech,” says Abu Abdullah, a senior member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Party of Liberation. “But we want to free all people from being slaves of men and make them slaves of Allah.”
“Islam obliges Muslims to possess power so that they can intimidate - I would not say terrorize - the enemies of Islam,” says Abu Mohammed, a Hizb ut-Tahrir activist. “And if after all discussions and negotiations they still refuse, then the last resort will be a jihad to spread the spirit of Islam and the rule of Islam,” he says, smiling.
“This is done in the interests of all people to get them out of
darkness and into light.” (Alan: the Jesuits were pussycats compared to these observers of "religion". Then again they were around several hundred years ago and not today like these Islamists, who want to coerce you to believe what they believe. Any resemblance to burning witches at Salem, come to mind?)
A schoolbook, in use in public schools in Saudi Arabia as late as 2006, stated that “Jihad in the path of God — which consists of battling against unbelief, oppression, injustice, and those who perpetrate it — is the summit of Islam.
This religion arose through jihad and through jihad was its banner raised high. It is one of the noblest acts, which brings one closer to God.”
Notice how the terms “unbelief, oppression and injustice” are used synonymously. Islamic apologists in the West keep repeating the mantra that “Jihad isn’t a fight against non-Muslims, but a struggle against tyranny and injustice.”
Again, the problem is that seen with Islamic eyes, there isn’t too much of a difference between these various terms. It’s “oppression” when Muslim immigrants in the West must live by the same, secular laws as the native infidels, not sharia, and “injustice” in the end refers to pretty much all societies not subjugated to obedience to the will of Allah.
“Injustice” can thus be used to describe all non-Islamic systems, for instance Western democracy.
The Saudi deputy minister of religious endowments, Abd Al-Rahman Al-Matroudi, stated in an interview on Saudi TV in July 2005 that “the definition of terrorism that concerns us is that it is any act or statement that contradicts the Koran or Sunna, whether in thought or action.”
He also said that Muslims should “impose their culture,” and that peaceful ways should be pursued only when they were not strong enough to do this: “If you are strong enough to defend yourself, you must do so...
Host: and impose your culture...
Al-Matroudi: Yes, and impose your culture.
Host: Great. Al-Matroudi: And if you have no such strength, you should do whatever you can to get what you want in peaceful and diplomatic ways.”
Aggression is something only infidels do. The Crusades were a brief and isolated episode in European history, whereas Jihad has been a constant feature of the Islamic world for more than 1300 years, fixed in the Koran and Islamic core texts.
Still, Muslims want Europeans to apologize for the Crusades, although they were, as Bernard Lewis and other have pointed out, a belated, defensive reaction against centuries of Islamic aggression.
This is because, as Tibi has demonstrated, it is not seen as aggression or war when Muslims attack non-Muslims.
On the contrary, it is seen as aggression when non-Muslims resist the Islamization of their lands and thus “place obstacles in the way” of the spread of Islam.
They are defying the will of Allah. Since subjugation to Islam alone can bring peace, Muslims consider themselves to be “spreading peace” when they raid, maim and kill from Europe to Central Asia.
According to Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the Muslim community “has been exposed to horrendous invasions and aggressive attacks, one of which is the missionary invasion that aims at uprooting the Muslim community altogether. (…)
One of its goals is to entice Muslims to convert to Christianity.” He thus considers verbal, non-violent efforts to convert Muslims to other religions a form of aggression. This is also the reason why countries such as Algeria have passed laws banning the call to embrace other religions than Islam.
Qaradawi also seems to support the traditional Islamic view that those leaving Islam should be executed. The curious thing is, Muslims in infidel countries consider it an act of aggression if they don’t get to convert non-Muslims.
As I’ve stated in previous essays, Jihad is, simply put, anything undertaken to advance the spread of Islam, peaceful or not. Which means that Jihad is always present, even if there should be a temporary absence of violence because Muslims are too weak to use force.
On the other hand, “aggression” is anything undertaken by non-Muslims to obstruct the advance of Islam, non-violent or not.
Based on this information, maybe we could make a sketch of a dictionary to explain what many Muslims actually think when they use various terms Westerners and infidels understand very differently:
Peace: “Peace” in Islam equals submission to the will of Allah through his divine and eternal law, sharia, and the extension of the Dar al-Islam – or ‘House of Islam’ – to cover the entire world.
The absence of sharia is the absence of peace.
Since it is the will of Allah that Islam will rule the entire planet, entering non-Muslim lands to subjugate the population and wipe out their corrupt, infidel culture is not seen by Muslims as “waging war,” but as spreading peace.
Freedom: Hurriyya, freedom, means freeing all people from being slaves of the laws of men and making them live in perfect slavery, in submission to the will of Allah and his laws.
Religious freedom: Subjugation of non-Muslims to religious apartheid and second class citizenship in their own country under Islamic rule. This option is only available to Christians and Jews, not Hindus, Buddhists or others, who have only the choice between embracing Islam or death.
Muslims should practice sharia. Since these laws require the subjugation of non-Muslims, “freedom of religion” for Muslims essentially means the freedom to make others unfree.
Jihad: Peaceful, inner struggle that has killed up to 80 million people in the Indian subcontinent alone, and enslaved or killed tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions of people on three continents for 1350 years. It can also be violent, but only for defensive purposes, such as the Muslims who defended their way from the Arabian Peninsula to the borders of China, wiping out the indigenous cultures along the way.
Aggression: When non-Muslims do anything to preserve their culture and resist the Islamization of their country. Even when this “aggression” is non-violent, such as publishing a cartoon critical of Islam, this intolerable insult to Islamic supremacy on earth can be answered with violence by Muslims.
Since a refusal to submit to sharia is a rebellion against Allah, the very existence of non-Muslim communities can be viewed as an act of aggression.

WHAT ISLAM DEMANDS
ISLAM IN SOME GREATER DETAIL
‘Jamhooria Islamia’, a monthly Baluchi magazine published from Panj-gar, published an interview with Maulana Nawabzadaa Nabiullah Khan, a confidant of and adviser to the Amir of leading Pakistani Islamic party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Qazi Ahmed, which was conducted by Jalil Amir. The following constitutes are excerpts from that conversation which reveals the fundamentalist ideology and designs of the organisation and its leader.
EQUALITY OF MEN AND WOMEN IS STUPIDITY
Q: The women issue is very controversial nowadays. Taliban and some fundamentalist organizations restrict the freedom of women while some progressive Muslim intellectuals are insisting that the women are equal to men in all spheres. What are Qazi’s views on women?
A: As I said earlier, the Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) views on women are the exact views of Qazi Ahmed and the Jamat. Equality of men and women is stupidity. What men can do, women cannot do. Women are weak physically and mentally compared to men. Men have to take care of women all the time.
WOMEN MUST STAY HOME
Women should not have a life outside the family. Education can be provided to them, but not to compete with men in public.
NO VOTING RIGHTS FOR WOMEN UNDER SHARIA
Qazi had said once that when JI comes to power in Pakistan , he will abolish the voting rights of women and minorities. Only the Muslim men can participate in voting or standing for elections.
When I asked the proof from Hadiths, he had quoted many Hadiths in support of that. I asked him why is it that it is never talked about openly in the public by the Jamaat? Qazi had said that the hints are all over the place.
But JI did not make it a big issue since the women who currently have the voting rights may vote against JI in the elections if such a thing is said openly.
NON MUSLIMS IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES MUST PAY JIZYA
Q: That brings us to the question of minorities. Will they have to pay Jizya tax?
A: Yes. They have to pay the tax. As explained by Qazi Ahmed , the idea of Jizya is not protection money. But it is a monetary force on the non-Muslim to convert to Islam. Once the Jamaat comes to power, the minorities will be induced (forced) to become Muslims either by monetary or psychological factors.
ALL INDIAN HINDUS WILL BE CONVERTED INTO ISLAM
JI is already equating India with Hindus so that the Hindus of Pakistan will be forced to become Muslims. This was a very successful strategy during the Babri Masjid riots. JI was actively involved in destroying the Hindu temples in Punjab and Sindh.
We ordered the destruction of the Hindu family property too. But our main aim was to destroy the Hindu temples. We wrote in the JI pamphlets that destroying each pagan temple makes a Muslim move closer to the heaven of Allah. We used the Hadiths in all the pamphlets.
Babar destroyed the Ram temple in Ayodhya because he was a true believer. The same way, every Muslim should take it upon himself to destroy the Hindu temples in Pakistan . O! ur idea was to encourage the Muslims of India also to destroy the Hindu temples in India . But this was not met with much success since the Hindu police in India started attacking the Muslims who were doing Allah’s duty.
Q: What kind of government does JI envisage for Pakistan ?
A: It will be the Sharia government. Sharia will be made our constitution so that the eminent Muslim scholars who had completed the schooling in Madrasas will be appointed as the Judges in every court.
Qazi wanted to make the presidium on the same model as the Khalifa. Presently our idea is that the entire top leadership of JI as well as all three military Generals will be part of the presidium for which the Qazi will be the Khalifa.
OUR MOTTO IS CONSTANT JIHAD
Our motto is ‘Constant Jihad’. The idea is to keep Pakistan in a constant state of Jihad all the time. Qazi’s vision is that Pakistan will be! the centre of the new Islamic Empire that stretches from Burma to Afghanistan and from Srilanka to Tajikistan including Kashmir.
Towards that end, the Jamaat will use all tactics from terrorism in the kafir-controlled areas to negotiations in the Muslim controlled areas. Already the Jamaat leaders of Bangladesh and Jamaat leaders of India have accepted the primacy of Pakistani leadership in this regard.
SRI LANKA AND BURMA WILL BE PRESSURIZED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM
Q: What about Srilanka and Burma ?
A: Both are Buddhist nations. For that matter even Baluchistan and Afghanistan were Buddhist once while Sindh and Punjab were Hindu earlier. Buddhists are generally weaker in matters of faith. Hence we hope they will become Muslim with a little pressure. But that will happen only after Jamaat conquers first Pakistan and then India .
Q: What are the plans for India ? It looks like the entire India policy of the Jamaat revolves around Kashmir .
A: Yes that is true. But that is for a very good reason. See Kashmir is like a keystone that sits on top of the arch. It is true that the arch holds the entire weight of the keystone. But if you remove the keystone, then the whole arch falls down. That is why it is called the keystone.
Kashmir is the keystone for India . Once you remove that, then India can no longer be secular and it will not be a united country either. Once Kashmir is taken out, these militancy movements will break India by asking the similar freedom for Nagaland, Kerala, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur , Assam , Jharkand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Khalistan.
INDIA WILL BE MADE A 100% MUSLIM NATION
Q: Coming back to the same point, if India was to become many countries, how do you deal with the individual Hindu States? They may even become big enemies of Pakistan . Or they may again re-group to challenge Pakistan .
A: Given the differences between the nationalities in India , the options for Pakistan are endless. Qazi’s vision is to make the entire India a 100% Muslim Nation.
A United India, where Hindus are majority is an impediment to that. Like Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) made Muslims out of pagans of Arabia, Qazi also wants to make Muslims out of the pagans of India .
Q: This is a great vision since this was not even possible for the Muslim dynasties and Moguls who ruled India for the last 700 years.
A: True. That is because they had never really established the Muslim Empire. Though the Kings were Muslims, they had entertained the Hindus in positions of power. When you make an unequivocal statement that only Muslims are voters and declare that India is an Islamic Republic, then automatically the people will become Muslims.
Little bit of terror had to be applied to the heart of Hindus and Christians. I will give you a best example. The portions which now constitute Pakistan had 25% Hindu population before Independence .
TERRORIZATION IS THE BEST CONVERSION TOOL
After Independence , a lot of Hindus migrated to India . Yet after the migration, the Pakistani Hindu population was 15%. Do you know what is the percentage now? It is less than 1%.
How was this made possible? How did the Hindus convert to Islam in a short span of 20 years whereas for 700 years they had never converted to Islam? That is purely because of the terror of the Partition.

Music previously was confined only to the vocal singing. Now science and technology made the music widespread at a cheaper price. These are the lures of Satan. We have to be on guard against these harami things.

EARTH IS FLAT !!!!!
There are many Hadiths, which say that the earth is flat. But any science will tell you the earth is a sphere. But you can use the same science like the relativity theory to prove that the earth is flat.

PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE BANNED UNDER JI
As far as photos are concerned, they will be banned as it was done in Afghanistan under Taliban. If there is no need for people to go out of Pakistan, where is the need for the passports?
For those who have to travel to other countries like the leaders of the revolution, they only will be given the passport with photos.
For that, we will allow limited photography licensed only to the government. And the biggest corruption in today’s Pakistan is Indian satellite TV and Indian cinemas and Indian songs. We have to abolish these too.

Q: Currently we have a lot of opposition from Mohajirs regarding
reservations. What kind of reservation policy will the JI will have in Pakistan ?
A: We approach that problem as the problem of language. Urdu-speaking Muslims and Sindhi-speaking Muslims are fighting now. We plan to abolish all the regional languages like Pashto, Sindhi, Baluchi, Urdu, Punjabi and Brahvi.
We want all the people of Pakistan to speak Arabic which is our divine language. This will make everyone equal before everyone else and there would not be any need for language or region based reservations. We also hope that this will make the Quran and Hadiths easier to understand and will make the people follow the Quran and Hadiths to the letter.
Q: There could be language riots. One such language riot resulted in Bangladesh .
A: Bangladesh was not a result of language riot. The very idea that they are Muslims will bring the Bangladeshis to Arabic. We already fund heavily the Arabic language courses all over India , Bangladesh and Pakistan .
From Morocco to Iraq speaks in Arabic, I don’t see any reason why from Morocco to Burma we will not bring Arabic to the people. Even Bangladesh will start speaking in Arabic. That time there won’t be any Bangladesh where the country name itself has the name of the language.
Yes. Right now our aim is just for reunification without touching on the language issue of Bengali. JI of Bangladesh is working towards this aim.
Q: The secular journalists of Pakistan oppose the JI. For example the Dawn and News are very critical of the JI. How do you see their role in the future?
A: Ardheshir Cowasjee is able to work only because of the present Constitution of Pakistan. When Sharia becomes the Constitution, he cannot even approach the court, as he is a kafir. We see secular journalists as our main enemy in the current struggle to reach power. These secular journalists are digging our statements we made during the pre-Independence days and trying to beat us.
Of course we opposed the creation of Pakistan during the British times. But that was a different Jamaat. Our history starts with Independence .
SECULARS ARE KAFIRS
Secular journalists are not Muslims even though some of them are carrying Muslim names. Let them come to us and let us ask questions on the Quran and Hadiths. We will prove each and every thing we say is from Quran and Hadiths. Let them prove what we say as wrong from the Quranic angle. Then we will accept them.

EQUALITY OF MEN AND WOMEN IS STUPIDITY
Q: The women issue is very controversial nowadays. Taliban and some fundamentalist organizations restrict the freedom of women while some progressive Muslim intellectuals are insisting that the women are equal to men in all spheres. What are Qazi’s views on women?
A: As I said earlier, the Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) views on women are the exact views of Qazi Ahmed and the Jamat. Equality of men and women is stupidity. What men can do, women cannot do. Women are weak physically and mentally compared to men. Men have to take care of women all the time.
WOMEN MUST STAY HOME
Women should not have a life outside the family. Education can be provided to them, but not to compete with men in public.
NO VOTING RIGHTS FOR WOMEN UNDER SHARIA
Qazi had said once that when JI comes to power in Pakistan , he will abolish the voting rights of women and minorities. Only the Muslim men can participate in voting or standing for elections.
When I asked the proof from Hadiths, he had quoted many Hadiths in support of that. I asked him why is it that it is never talked about openly in the public by the Jamaat? Qazi had said that the hints are all over the place.
But JI did not make it a big issue since the women who currently have the voting rights may vote against JI in the elections if such a thing is said openly.
NON MUSLIMS IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES MUST PAY JIZYA
Q: That brings us to the question of minorities. Will they have to pay Jizya tax?
A: Yes. They have to pay the tax. As explained by Qazi Ahmed , the idea of Jizya is not protection money. But it is a monetary force on the non-Muslim to convert to Islam. Once the Jamaat comes to power, the minorities will be induced (forced) to become Muslims either by monetary or psychological factors.
ALL INDIAN HINDUS WILL BE CONVERTED INTO ISLAM
JI is already equating India with Hindus so that the Hindus of Pakistan will be forced to become Muslims. This was a very successful strategy during the Babri Masjid riots. JI was actively involved in destroying the Hindu temples in Punjab and Sindh.
We ordered the destruction of the Hindu family property too. But our main aim was to destroy the Hindu temples. We wrote in the JI pamphlets that destroying each pagan temple makes a Muslim move closer to the heaven of Allah. We used the Hadiths in all the pamphlets.
Babar destroyed the Ram temple in Ayodhya because he was a true believer. The same way, every Muslim should take it upon himself to destroy the Hindu temples in Pakistan . O! ur idea was to encourage the Muslims of India also to destroy the Hindu temples in India . But this was not met with much success since the Hindu police in India started attacking the Muslims who were doing Allah’s duty.
Q: What kind of government does JI envisage for Pakistan ?
A: It will be the Sharia government. Sharia will be made our constitution so that the eminent Muslim scholars who had completed the schooling in Madrasas will be appointed as the Judges in every court.
Qazi wanted to make the presidium on the same model as the Khalifa. Presently our idea is that the entire top leadership of JI as well as all three military Generals will be part of the presidium for which the Qazi will be the Khalifa.
OUR MOTTO IS CONSTANT JIHAD
Our motto is ‘Constant Jihad’. The idea is to keep Pakistan in a constant state of Jihad all the time. Qazi’s vision is that Pakistan will be! the centre of the new Islamic Empire that stretches from Burma to Afghanistan and from Srilanka to Tajikistan including Kashmir.
Towards that end, the Jamaat will use all tactics from terrorism in the kafir-controlled areas to negotiations in the Muslim controlled areas. Already the Jamaat leaders of Bangladesh and Jamaat leaders of India have accepted the primacy of Pakistani leadership in this regard.
SRI LANKA AND BURMA WILL BE PRESSURIZED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM
Q: What about Srilanka and Burma ?
A: Both are Buddhist nations. For that matter even Baluchistan and Afghanistan were Buddhist once while Sindh and Punjab were Hindu earlier. Buddhists are generally weaker in matters of faith. Hence we hope they will become Muslim with a little pressure. But that will happen only after Jamaat conquers first Pakistan and then India .
Q: What are the plans for India ? It looks like the entire India policy of the Jamaat revolves around Kashmir .
A: Yes that is true. But that is for a very good reason. See Kashmir is like a keystone that sits on top of the arch. It is true that the arch holds the entire weight of the keystone. But if you remove the keystone, then the whole arch falls down. That is why it is called the keystone.
Kashmir is the keystone for India . Once you remove that, then India can no longer be secular and it will not be a united country either. Once Kashmir is taken out, these militancy movements will break India by asking the similar freedom for Nagaland, Kerala, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur , Assam , Jharkand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Khalistan.
INDIA WILL BE MADE A 100% MUSLIM NATION
Q: Coming back to the same point, if India was to become many countries, how do you deal with the individual Hindu States? They may even become big enemies of Pakistan . Or they may again re-group to challenge Pakistan .
A: Given the differences between the nationalities in India , the options for Pakistan are endless. Qazi’s vision is to make the entire India a 100% Muslim Nation.
A United India, where Hindus are majority is an impediment to that. Like Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) made Muslims out of pagans of Arabia, Qazi also wants to make Muslims out of the pagans of India .
Q: This is a great vision since this was not even possible for the Muslim dynasties and Moguls who ruled India for the last 700 years.
A: True. That is because they had never really established the Muslim Empire. Though the Kings were Muslims, they had entertained the Hindus in positions of power. When you make an unequivocal statement that only Muslims are voters and declare that India is an Islamic Republic, then automatically the people will become Muslims.
Little bit of terror had to be applied to the heart of Hindus and Christians. I will give you a best example. The portions which now constitute Pakistan had 25% Hindu population before Independence .
TERRORIZATION IS THE BEST CONVERSION TOOL
After Independence , a lot of Hindus migrated to India . Yet after the migration, the Pakistani Hindu population was 15%. Do you know what is the percentage now? It is less than 1%.
How was this made possible? How did the Hindus convert to Islam in a short span of 20 years whereas for 700 years they had never converted to Islam? That is purely because of the terror of the Partition.

There are many Hadiths, which say that the earth is flat. But any science will tell you the earth is a sphere. But you can use the same science like the relativity theory to prove that the earth is flat.
It is the same case with evolution. But the point being that doubt is sown in the minds of the people on the validity of the Quran as the word of God. More and more we work hard to prove the Quran’s scientific correctness, more and more people will get apprehensive of the truth of the Quran. This is an abomination.

This is why when we talk of education, we talk of religious education and not scientific education.
It is true that science grew after the Prophet’s revolution in Arabia . That was the start of science. Now each and every science is filled with anti-god stuff.
If you want to become a doctor, you have to read evolution. If you have to read any engineering, you have to believe in the billions of years old universe theory which effectively says that human beings came to the world only just one or two million years back.
Q: But we still need the arms and knowledge of the Western world, which believes in science. And again you had referred to television as evil. If we abolish photography how can we have passports or identification cards?
A: Yes. That is strategic. With the help of Allah, we will be given oil for them to run their cars and we will have arms in that place. We will use their arms to destroy them in the course of time.
PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE BANNED UNDER JI
As far as photos are concerned, they will be banned as it was done in Afghanistan under Taliban. If there is no need for people to go out of Pakistan, where is the need for the passports?
For those who have to travel to other countries like the leaders of the revolution, they only will be given the passport with photos.
For that, we will allow limited photography licensed only to the government. And the biggest corruption in today’s Pakistan is Indian satellite TV and Indian cinemas and Indian songs. We have to abolish these too.
ARABIC WILL BE MADE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF PAKISTAN
Q: Currently we have a lot of opposition from Mohajirs regarding
reservations. What kind of reservation policy will the JI will have in Pakistan ?
A: We approach that problem as the problem of language. Urdu-speaking Muslims and Sindhi-speaking Muslims are fighting now. We plan to abolish all the regional languages like Pashto, Sindhi, Baluchi, Urdu, Punjabi and Brahvi.
We want all the people of Pakistan to speak Arabic which is our divine language. This will make everyone equal before everyone else and there would not be any need for language or region based reservations. We also hope that this will make the Quran and Hadiths easier to understand and will make the people follow the Quran and Hadiths to the letter.
Q: There could be language riots. One such language riot resulted in Bangladesh .
A: Bangladesh was not a result of language riot. The very idea that they are Muslims will bring the Bangladeshis to Arabic. We already fund heavily the Arabic language courses all over India , Bangladesh and Pakistan .
From Morocco to Iraq speaks in Arabic, I don’t see any reason why from Morocco to Burma we will not bring Arabic to the people. Even Bangladesh will start speaking in Arabic. That time there won’t be any Bangladesh where the country name itself has the name of the language.
Yes. Right now our aim is just for reunification without touching on the language issue of Bengali. JI of Bangladesh is working towards this aim.
Q: The secular journalists of Pakistan oppose the JI. For example the Dawn and News are very critical of the JI. How do you see their role in the future?
A: Ardheshir Cowasjee is able to work only because of the present Constitution of Pakistan. When Sharia becomes the Constitution, he cannot even approach the court, as he is a kafir. We see secular journalists as our main enemy in the current struggle to reach power. These secular journalists are digging our statements we made during the pre-Independence days and trying to beat us.
Of course we opposed the creation of Pakistan during the British times. But that was a different Jamaat. Our history starts with Independence .
SECULARS ARE KAFIRS
Secular journalists are not Muslims even though some of them are carrying Muslim names. Let them come to us and let us ask questions on the Quran and Hadiths. We will prove each and every thing we say is from Quran and Hadiths. Let them prove what we say as wrong from the Quranic angle. Then we will accept them.
But they cannot. They cannot match us in any debate concerning the Quran and Hadiths. We can comprehensively prove that they are indeed non-Muslims.! They are like Quadianis who say that the Muslim need not take up Jihad as an obligation. That is pure nonsense.

The Hamas Charter explicitly abjures negotiated settlements as mechanisms for peaceful coexistence: “There is no other solution for the Palestinian problem other than jihad. All the initiatives and international conferences are a waste of time and a futile game.”
According to the Charter, those against whom jihad is to be directed are the Jews. “The Nazism of the Jews,” it says, “does not skip women and children, it scares everyone. They make war against people’s livelihood, plunder their moneys and threaten their honor.”
Hamas seeks to fulfill the Qur’anic scripture which reads: “The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!”
Hamas’ rejection of negotiated settlements was given voice in October 2000 by its founder and then-leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, who was killed on March 22, 2004, by Hellfire missiles fired by Israeli helicopter gun ships. Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat eulogized Yassin and declared three days of mourning.
Yassin was immediately replaced by Hamas co-founder Abdel Aziz al Rantisi, who had escaped an Israeli assassination attempt in June 2003. The 54-year-old pediatrician initially threatened retaliatory attacks against both Israel and the United States, but later said that Hamas would target only Israel.
On April 17, 2004, An Israeli helicopter launched a strike on Rantisi’s car, killing him and two others — one of them a bodyguard.

“We want a political partnership along new guidelines which take into account the weight of the various movements.” But this alleged diversity of political viewpoints was illusory. On January 3, 2003, PLO political chief Farouq Al-Qaddoumi candidly acknowledged that Fatah, “strategically,” was “never different from Hamas.”
In March 2005, FBI Director Robert Mueller stated, “Of all the Palestinian groups, Hamas has the largest presence in the United States with a strong infrastructure … [and] is theoretically capable of facilitating acts of terrorism in the United States.”
In October 2005 an FBI counterterrorism agent in New York affirmed Mueller’s assertions, stating “We have information Hamas agents have been on U.S. soil the past few years and that the group may currently have up to 100 agents operating inside America.”
According to terrorism expert Steven Emerson, “Hamas has an extensive infrastructure in the U.S. mostly revolving around the activities of fundraising, recruiting and training members, directing operations against Israel, organizing political support and operating through human rights front groups. … [I]t has the capability of carrying out attacks in America if it decided to enlarge the scope of its operations.”
In August 2005, the founders and political leaders of Hamas joined forces to publicly announce that the organization’s attacks against Israeli targets would continue even after Israel’s impending withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Senior Hamas member Ismail Haniyye characterized Israel’s withdrawal as a “retreat” that was “a result of resistance and our people’s sacrifice.”
Promising more violence, Haniyye declared, “Hamas confirms its adherence to resistance as a strategic option until the occupation retreats from our lands and holy places. Our movement reaffirms that it will protect its military apparatus …”
In elections held on January 27, 2006, Hamas won control of the Palestinian government when its party members took a majority of parliamentary seats. At a Gaza news conference, Haniyeh said his relations with Abbas would stress “cooperation and harmony, based on the supreme interest of the people” — which meant confronting “Israeli aggression against the people.” The new 24-member Hamas Cabinet included 14 ministers who had previously served time in Israeli prisons.
On February 15, 2007, following months of difficult negotiations and violent street fighting, the Hamas-led Palestinian government resigned in order to pave the way for a “unity government” that would include both Hamas and its rival Fatah. Ismail Haniyeh kept his position as Prime Minister, and Hamas retained a majority of the cabinet, with twelve seats, with Fatah holding only six.
On April 24, 2007, Hamas announced that a “truce” it had made with Israel five months earlier was “officially over.” To make the point, the terror group fired 39 Qassam rockets and 79 mortars from the Gaza Strip into nearby Jewish communities on the day that Israelis were celebrating their country’s Independence Day.
The projectiles were intended to divert Israeli attention while Hamas terrorists tried, unsuccessfully, to storm an Israeli military base on the Gaza border to kidnap Israeli soldiers. ISLAMIC JIHADISTS PRACTICE URBAN TERROR IN AMERICAN STREETS

Zealot Muslims now plan to bathe America ’s streets with gunfire just as is going on in Iraq , Afghanistan , Sudan , Darfur and so forth.
Once these Allah devotees get hold, they don’t stop. Street fighting never ends. Further, these fighters are more than willing to sacrifice their own bodies and those of their families and neighbors in order to see through Islam World Rule.

‘The case originated with the arrest of Mousa M. ABUELAWI, 22, of Creve Coeur , MO on December 29, 2006. He was charged with three counts of illegal possession or distribution of a machine gun and conspiracy to violate machine gun statutes. A superseding indictment unsealed yesterday, charges ABUELAWI and seven others with machine gun charges and charges of conspiracy, lying to the FBI and other firearms violations.
‘The other seven defendants identified in the indictment are identified as: Thaer Abde SUMAD, 23, of Florissant, MO, Abdikarin WARSAME, 28, Charley M. HUNT Jr., 45, Darnell T. THORNTON, 25, and Hussein Ali NURE, 29, all from Jennings, MO, Mohamed JUDEH, 20, of Maryland Heights and Otha L. BAKER, 20, of St. Louis. If found guilty of the charges, the men face 5-10 years in prison.’

Evans, 49 years old, worked in the fields of Irish terrorism in the 1980s and 1990s, and since 1999 has specialized in international terrorism. Ten days before 9/11, he became director of international counter terrorism at MI5.
Before 1993, the identities of the leaders of MI5 were kept secret. It was announced in that year that Stella Rimington had become the first woman head of MI5.
Rimington was the 13th Director General, heading the agency from 1992 to 1996. Jonathan Evans is the 16th head of MI5.

MI5 is answerable to three governing authorities - senior ministers, the Intelligence and Security Committee, and since 2000 to two independent commissioners.
The two commissioners, whose role was established under the terms of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, are appointed by the prime minister. They also oversee the activities of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), based at the “donut”, a purpose-built construction at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
GCHQ is a listening center employing 4,500 staff, gathering information from Britain and abroad for both MI5 and MI6. It is the equivalent of NSA’s headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland.
The escalation of the threat of Islamic terrorism has seen an expansion in MI5’s operations. At the end of 2001, following the events of 9/11, the department of MI5 charged to tackle Islamic terrorism - G-Branch - admitted that it had “woefully few” agents who could infiltrate Muslim terror groups.
After failing in attempts to attract Muslims into the service three years previously, it began another Muslim recruitment campaign in late 2001. At that time 2,000 people were employed by MI5.
Potential Islamists were intended to be weeded out by its policies of “developed vetting”. Security checks on applicants take six to eight months, and in some cases more than a year.
Though Muslim applicants to MI5 did not drastically increase, a month after 7/7 there was a surge in applicants to join MI5, including a large percentage of Muslims.
Eliza Manningham-Buller then stated her aims to increase the numbers of staff to 3,000. Such measures cost money. In November she announced that she wished to see 4,000 people employed by MI5 by 2009. She requested from the then Home Secretary an estimated sum of £50 million ($99 million) to recruit 800 extra spies, surveillance and desk officers. At that time, according to former Metropolitan Police commissioner Lord Stevens, there were 200 Al Qaeda terror suspects in Britain.
In April 2006, MI5 and police claimed that the figure of terrorist suspects in Britain was around 400 individuals. Of these, about 40 to 60 were regarded as capable and seriously intending to commit terror acts. Manningham-Buller said that if people who had attended training camps in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other locations were included, the true figure was close to 600.
Using the additional funding granted after 7/7, MI5 had set up offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Glasgow, with plans to open more in Wales and the southwest of England.
On May 14, 2006, a report by Vincent Moss in the Sunday Mirror claimed that MI5’s Muslim recruitment drive had attracted Al Qaeda supporters. The article was later pulled from the newspaper’s website. Moss quoted an unnamed minister who said: “The truth is that it has now been discovered that some of those people have strong links with al-Qaeda.
There was always a risk that with such a speedy and widespread recruitment some would turn out to be bad eggs. But the recruitment has meant we are now in a much better position to stop al-Qaeda attacks than we have ever been before. Several planned attacks have already been stopped thanks to the high quality of our intelligence.”
In July 2006, MI5 confirmed with the BBC that Al Qaeda sympathizers had tried to infiltrate the service. The BBC stated that MI5 believed that there were 400,000 individuals in Britain who were “sympathetic to violent jihad around the world”.
Additionally Peter Clarke, head of the Metropolitan Police’s anti-terrorist branch, said that there were 1,200 people who were regarded as Islamist “activists”. He said 60 people were awaiting trial, and claimed that his staff were investigating at least 70 terror plots in the country. The majority of these related “to the activities of British citizens against their fellow countrymen”.
On July 4, three days before the first anniversary of the 7/7 attack which killed 52 people, prime minister Tony Blair said: “I believe at the moment we have a clear, active threat. I want our police and our security services focused on dealing with that threat.”
In August 2006, the Times revealed that a record amount of MI5’s annual budget of £200 million ($381.62 million) was being allocated to Islamist terrorism. £16 million ($30.53 million) of its budget had recently been switched to counter-terrorism operations and protective security, bringing its total spend on such work to 87% or £174 million ($332 million) per year.
Six percent of the budget was spent on counter-espionage - £12 million ($22.89 million), 4% on external assistance - £8 million ($15.26 million), 2.5% on counter-proliferation - £5 million ($9.54 million) and 0.5% on emerging terrorism and other threats - £1 million ($1.9 million).
In the same month, Home Secretary John Reid confirmed that there were 70 terrorist plots in Britain, with 24 of these being “major conspiracies”.
On November 9 2006, when there were 2,800 staff members at MI5, Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller (pictured) made a speech at Queen Mary’s College in London. Some of her speech was politically correct dogma, such as the assertion that “We also need to understand some of the differences between non-Western and Western life-styles; and not treat people with suspicion because of their religion, or indeed to confuse fundamentalism with terrorism.”
Islamic terrorism is fueled by fundamentalism, and for a head of MI5 to claim differently should raise alarm bells. She did say, however: “I do not speak in this way to alarm nor, as the cynics might claim, to enhance the reputation of my organization but to give the most frank account I can of the Al-Qaeda threat to the UK.
That threat is serious, is growing and will, I believe, be with us for a generation. It is a sustained campaign, not a series of isolated incidents. It aims to wear down our will to resist.”
That much is true - resistance to the fundamentalist forces which fuel terrorism has been entirely abandoned by politically correct elements within the UK government. Senior members of MI6 and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office support the “Engaging With the Islamic World Group”, which has paid flight and hotel expenses for Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who is spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and an advocate of terror attacks against Israeli citizens, to travel to an Islamic conference in Turkey.
The effectiveness of MI5 depends upon clear-sightedness, and not PC dogma. Already it has had agents turning renegade, such as David Shayler. He passed 28 secret documents to the Express on Sunday newspaper, which included names of MI5 agents. Shayler was convicted of breaching the terms of the Official Secrets Act on November 4, 2002. He was sentenced to only six months’ jail on November 5.
In 2000, a US website revealed confidential information leaked from MI5. The material was so sensitive it was classed as “UK EYES ALPHA” - meaning it was not even to be seen by US agents. The information concerned intelligence on Libyan spies, though Shayler denied responsibility for the leak. The leaked report named MI5 and MI6 agents, putting their lives at risk.
In late February 2003, immediately prior to the Iraq invasion, a woman translator, Katherine Gun, who worked at GCHQ in Cheltenham discovered an email which gave details of the UK/US negotiations. This document also named the head of the US’ National Security Agency (NSA), whose identity was not authorized to be made public.
Gun ignored this and passed the email to the Observer newspaper, which published it. She was arrested on March 5, fourteen days before the Iraq invasion. She was not immediately charged, and did not lose her job until June.
She was finally charged under Section 1 of the Official Secrets Act on November 13, 2003. In February 25, 2004, she appeared in court but the case was dropped as the prosecution offered no evidence. Unrepentant, Gun announced in September, 2004 that she had set up a “support group” for potential “whistleblowers”.
Some MI5 details have seeped out from incompetence or negligence. In April 2006 the then Home Secretary announced that three laptop computers belonging to MI5 agents had been stolen. One laptop, containing information on Northern Ireland, had been stolen from an officer at Paddington station in March 2000. The details of the other two stolen laptops and their contents were not disclosed.
Peter Clarke, head of the Metropolitan Police’s counter terrorism department, claimed on April 26 this year that there was “deliberate leaking of highly sensitive operational intelligence” in police counter-terror operations. He mentioned that on January 31 this year, police in Birmingham were mounting an operation in Birmingham.
Eight people were arrested, connected with a plot to kidnap and behead a British Muslim soldier. Assistant Chief Constable David Shaw, the officer in charge of the operation, had complained at the time that a leak from Whitehall to the press had compromised the investigation’s effectiveness.
Clarke said of this leak: “This damaged the interview strategy of the investigators, and undoubtedly raised community tensions... What I am talking about is the deliberate leaking of highly sensitive operational intelligence, often classified, and the unauthorized release of which can be a criminal offense.”
Where the leak came from is unknown but Clarke suggested government “spin doctors” were responsible. There were calls in parliament for an official investigation, and Blair was forced to condemn the issuing of leaks to the press.
When Mohammed Sidique Khan led a team of four suicide bombers who murdered 52 people on London Transport on July 7, 2005, the nation was shocked. It later emerged that MI5 had placed Khan under surveillance in 2004, but had decided he was not a serious security risk.
A parliamentary committee criticized MI5 for this oversight in April 2006 but later exonerated the agency of blame for 7/7. In May, it was revealed that MI5 had made recordings of Khan discussing the mechanics of building of a bomb.
David Davis, shadow Home Secretary said: “It seems that MI5 taped Mohammad Sidique Khan talking about his wish to fight in the jihad and saying his goodbyes to his family... a clear indication that he was intending a suicide mission. He was known to have attended late-stage discussions on planning another major terror attack.”
The committee had never been presented with these tapes.

The report claimed that Al Qaeda leaders in Iraq were planning a major attack. It stated: “A member of this network is reportedly involved in an operation which he believes requires AQ Core authorization. He claims the operation will be on ’a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki’ and will ’shake the Roman throne’. We assess that this operation is most likely to be a large-scale, mass casualty attack against the West.”
The report stated that Abdul al-Hadi al-Iraqi, a Kurdish member of Al-Qaeda’s leadership in Iraq had written of a specific plot to attack the UK, preferably before Blair steps down as prime minister. He had “stressed the need to take care to ensure that the attack was successful and on a large scale.”
Al-Hadi was last week transferred to Guantanamo, following his arrest last year and being in CIA custody since then. He is said to have met two of the 7/7 bombers, Mohammed Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, at a Pakistan terror training camp in 2004, according to a source close to MI5.
The source claimed: “They talked about the sort of targets they were going to look at. These included the national transport system, the Underground network and Heathrow airport. They also examined targets such as the energy network and poisoning the water supply.”
MI5, it seems, authorizes leaks which serve its purposes, but there is always the risk of infiltration and leaks from renegade agents. David Shayler had been the first person to be prosecuted for leaking serious information from MI5 in almost two decades. A former assistant director of MI5, Peter Wright, had infuriated Margaret Thatcher when he tried to have his autobiography, called “Spycatcher”, published in 1985.
The material was not particularly sensitive, and eventually sold 2 million copies globally. In 1988, Law Lords cleared the book for UK publication.
At the end of March, the current Home Secretary confirmed that the Home Office will be split in two. Currently the ministry deals with issues of policing and security, as well as prisons and sentencing of convicts. In the future, the Home Office, which already has affiliations with MI5, will deal only with issues of policing, terrorism, security and immigration.
What may threaten future operations will be decisions of existing agents to ally themselves with the Islamist cause, or Al Qaeda sympathizers managing to slip past the checks and balances of MI5’s “developed vetting”. No organization can be expected to predict every possible attack, but without a doubt, MI5 will be more active in the future than it is at present.

Jamaat ul-FuqraFormation
Jamaat ul-Fuqra (JF) or “community of the impoverished”, a terrorist outfit operating in Pakistan and North America, was formed by a Pakistani cleric, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, in New York in 1980, on his first visit to the US. Mubarak Gilani’s intention in forming the outfit was to ‘purify’ Islam through violence.Ideology, Leadership and Structure
The JF, in its early phase, sought to counter what is perceived as excessive Western influence on Islam. It also concluded that violence was a significant aspect in its quest to purify Islam.
In its ideological moorings, the Fuqra regards as enemies of Islam all those who do not follow the tenets of Islam as laid out in the Koran, including those Muslims who they consider as heretics as well as non-Muslims.
One of Gilani’s works published by the Quranic Open University in the US and seized in a 1991-investigation instructed his cadres that their foremost duty was to wage Jehad against the ‘oppressors of Muslims’.
Members of the group are described as Islamist extremists with much hatred toward their ‘enemies’.
The JF is loosely structured with certain elements working openly through social service organisations to recruit members, raise money, organise activities and carry out propaganda.
Individuals selected to live on JF premises agree to abide by the law and discipline of the Jamaat ul-Fuqra.
Investigations by the Colorado Attorney General’s Office in the 1980s indicated that the JF was composed of approximately 30 different ‘Jamaats’ or communities, more or less mobile in nature.
Most of these ‘Jamaats’ are reportedly existent even today along with what investigators discerned to be several covert paramilitary training compounds, one of which had been located in a mountainous area near Buena Vista, Colorado prior to the Colorado prosecutions in the mid-1990s.
Within 10 years of its formation, Fuqra’s communes in the US attracted many Muslim converts-including some of those recruited in prisons.
The JF is said to comprise of some 1,000 to 3,000 members in the US. Secrecy is the hallmark of the outfit and cadres are reportedly well versed in the use of aliases. The Fuqra’s structure is well concealed behind front outfits and consists of a network of safe houses and cells.
Furthermore, the JF founder as well as cadres consistently maintain that it does not exist. JF members occasionally travel abroad for ‘paramilitary and survivalist training’ under Gilani’s supervision.
Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who also calls himself the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr, is the chief of JF.

Although Gilani, the reclusive chief of Fuqra resides in Lahore, Pakistan, most JF cells are located in North America.
Fuqra members have purchased isolated rural properties in North America to live as a community, practice their faith, and insulate themselves from Western culture. The group has set up and funded rural communes that the US authorities allege are linked to murder, bombings and other felonies throughout the US and Canada.
Currently, there are half a dozen Fuqra residential compounds in rural hamlets across the US sheltering hundreds of cadres, some of who have reportedly trained in the use of weapons and explosives in Pakistan.
Muslims of the Americas, a tax-exempt group established in the US in 1980 by Gilani, operates communes of primarily black, American-born Muslims in many states in the US, including in Binghamton in New York, Badger in California, York in South California and Red House in Virginia.
JF is reportedly linked through court documents to the Muslims of Americas. There is also a road in the name of Sheikh Gilani in the vicinity of Virginia. The cult houses between 100 and 200 people, many of them women and children in about 20 huge trailers. There is also a Virginia newspaper, the Islamic Post, founded by Sheikh Gilani.
Linkages and Incidents
Jamaat al-Fuqra, also described as a cult, is currently the focus of a probe by US authorities for charges ranging from links with terrorist groups to laundering money into Pakistan.
In the 1980s, they carried out various terrorist acts, including numerous fire-bombings across the United States.
JF’s early targets in North America were ethnic Indians and targets linked to various Indian sects. In July 1983, Stephen Paul Paster, a front ranking JF member, was responsible for planting a pipe bomb at a Portland hotel owned by followers of the Bhagwan Rajneesh cult.
After his arrest in Colorado, Paster served four years of a 20-year prison sentence for the bombing. He was suspected but not charged in two other bombings in Seattle in 1984 - the bombings of the Vedanta Society temple and the Integral Yoga Society building.
Currently, Paster is reported to be based in Lahore, Pakistan, from where, intelligence sources say, he provides explosives training to Fuqra cadres.
After the Portland bombing, two Fuqra cadres allegedly killed Mozaffar Ahmad, a leader of the minority Ahmadiyyah sect in Canton, Michigan. Both the suspects reportedly perished in a fire they had set at the Ahmadiyyah mosque in nearby Detroit.
The JF is also reported to have been involved in the killing of three Indians on August 1, 1984 in a suburb of Tacoma, Washington. Besides, the JF is suspected to be involved in a series of fire bombings of Hindu and Hare Krishna temples in Seattle, Denver, Philadelphia and Kansas City.
US officials in 1989, during a search of a storage locker in Colorado Springs, recovered a large cache of armaments and documents with multiple links to the JF.
Among the arms recovered were handguns, semi-automatic firearms, explosives, pipe bombs, bomb components and several bombs.
Some of the seized documents described the activities and code of the “Muhammad Commandos of Sector 5,” who were reportedly involved in arms training and intelligence gathering.
The documents, including maps and lists, contained details of potential JF targets and victims in Los Angeles, Arizona and Colorado––oil and gas installations and electrical facilities, US. Air Force Academy and other military sites, people in 12 US states and Canada with Jewish or Hindu-sounding names.
Various JF publications were seized during this search. Titles of some of the publications seized included “Guerrilla Warfare”, “Counter Guerrilla Operations”, “Understanding Amateur Radio”, and “Fair Weather Flying,” and “Basic Blueprint Reading and Sketching.”
In 1991, JF’s plans to bomb an Indian cinema and a Hindu temple near Toronto were unsuccessful.
Five JF cadres were arrested at the Niagara Falls border crossing after US Customs agents searched their cars and found visual evidence and plans of the interiors of the targets and a description of time bombs.
A Canadian jury convicted three American JF cadres of conspiracy to commit mischief and endanger life. A fourth suspect, who had come to Canada from Pakistan shortly before the planned bombing, fled to Pakistan after his colleagues’ arrest, according to evidence presented at the trial.
In the 1990s, JF was more often than not operating under the guise of two front groups, ‘Muslims of the Americas’ and ‘Quranic Open University’. The latter portrayed itself as a religious and charitable educational institution dedicated to studying the Quran.
Gilani has reportedly admitted to receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in donations from America. A large segment of JF members have been convicted of criminal acts, including murder and fraud.
With the US State Department outlawing Fuqra and listing it as one of the proscribed groups in its annual reports, the activities of the outfit decreased relatively. The JF supports various terrorist groups operating in Pakistan and in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sheikh Gilani has linkages with Islamist terrorist groups like the Hamas and Hezbollah. Although dormant in terms of real activity, JF has an active link with the terrorist groups in Pakistan and provides both moral and material assistance to these groups.
JF cadres are suspects in at least 10 unsolved assassinations and 17 firebombing cases between 1979 and 1990.
In 1993 Fuqra members in Colorado were convicted of participating in a conspiracy resulting in the killing of a Muslim religious figure in Arizona.
One of the persons convicted in the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 was Clement Rodney Hampton-el, a Fuqra member. JF was linked in a Congressional testimony to the planning of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Gilani is now in Pakistani custody for the abduction of US journalist Daniel Pearl. Official sources in Pakistan have indicated that Daniel Pearl was attempting to meet Gilani in the days before he disappeared in Karachi.
Pakistani police arrested Gilani in Rawalpindi on January 30, 2002 and shifted him to Karachi for questioning. Although he denied any link to the abduction, police also detained several of his colleagues. Consequent to his arrest, he reportedly told his interrogators that he had links with the Pakistani intelligence agencies.
A media report has indicated that the JF is also being probed for links with Richard Reid, a Briton, accused of trying to use explosives in his shoes to blow up a Paris-to-Miami jetliner on December 22, 2001.
A house in Virginia believed to be linked to the JF was raided by police in December 2001 and two persons were arrested for illegally purchasing guns.
Three suspected US-based JF members have been arrested on weapons charges in the year 2001, including two following the September 11 multiple terrorist attacks. Vicente Rafael Pierre, a 44-year-old native of Brooklyn and his wife Traci Upshur, both JF cadres, were arrested on gun charges and convicted on November 30, 2001.
Pierre’s Virginia compound, near the Red House Commune, is reported to have served as a JF base.
A money laundering scheme run by the Red House Commune is reportedly similar to a Colorado operation that was shut down in 1993.
Colorado law enforcement agencies convicted five JF cadres for defrauding the Colorado government of approximately $350,000 through bogus workers’ compensation claims.
Prosecuting agencies have indicated that the amount had been laundered through Professional Security International (PSI), a JF security firm, and Muslims of the Americas. A portion of the funds was tracked through PSI to JF couriers who traveled to Pakistan. The PSI reportedly enabled JF cadres to obtain federal licenses to buy weapons. The Fuqra is also suspected of having two more security firms located in New York.
The Fuqra also reportedly has various broad schemes to take government entitlement money and utilise it to fund terrorist activities. The commune in Colorado is spread across 101 acres and police recovered bombs, weapons and plans for terrorist attacks in a raid in the year 1993.
Two other communes in New York and California have shooting ranges. The 1,800-acre settlement in the Sierra Mountains in California also reportedly has an airstrip.
In a February 22, 2002 interview, Gilani said his ‘contribution’ to the ‘Kashmir cause’ since 1947 and to the Afghan Jehad were on record. In the same interview, Gilani claimed that both the governments of Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) had requested him to mobilise his university students to project the cause of Kashmir in the US through the media by holding rallies and informing the public.
To this end, he claimed that the Kashmir-American Friendship Society was formed in 1993.
Gilani is currently under investigation for his alleged links to the al Qaeda terror network of Osama bin Laden and for money laundering from the US into Pakistan and vice versa.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating connections between a small black Muslim community in California’s Sierra Nevada valley, called Baladullah and the JF.
The FBI reportedly looked into Baladullah, a community of 30 Muslim families, while investigating into JF’s activities at a remote Virginia settlement, where one person was convicted in November 2001 on charges of federal firearms violations.

Colorado law enforcement agencies convicted five JF cadres for defrauding the Colorado government of approximately $350,000 through bogus workers’ compensation claims.
Prosecuting agencies have indicated that the amount had been laundered through Professional Security International (PSI), a JF security firm, and Muslims of the Americas. A portion of the funds was tracked through PSI to JF couriers who traveled to Pakistan. The PSI reportedly enabled JF cadres to obtain federal licenses to buy weapons. The Fuqra is also suspected of having two more security firms located in New York.
The Fuqra also reportedly has various broad schemes to take government entitlement money and utilise it to fund terrorist activities. The commune in Colorado is spread across 101 acres and police recovered bombs, weapons and plans for terrorist attacks in a raid in the year 1993.
Two other communes in New York and California have shooting ranges. The 1,800-acre settlement in the Sierra Mountains in California also reportedly has an airstrip.
In a February 22, 2002 interview, Gilani said his ‘contribution’ to the ‘Kashmir cause’ since 1947 and to the Afghan Jehad were on record. In the same interview, Gilani claimed that both the governments of Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) had requested him to mobilise his university students to project the cause of Kashmir in the US through the media by holding rallies and informing the public.
To this end, he claimed that the Kashmir-American Friendship Society was formed in 1993.
Gilani is currently under investigation for his alleged links to the al Qaeda terror network of Osama bin Laden and for money laundering from the US into Pakistan and vice versa.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating connections between a small black Muslim community in California’s Sierra Nevada valley, called Baladullah and the JF.
The FBI reportedly looked into Baladullah, a community of 30 Muslim families, while investigating into JF’s activities at a remote Virginia settlement, where one person was convicted in November 2001 on charges of federal firearms violations.
