A GOOD LOOK AT ISLAM AND CONSEQUENCES OF OBAMA'S EGYPT BLUNDER

On August 13, 2011, the Egyptian daily Roz Al-Yousef published an interview[1] with Sheikh 'Adel Shehato, a senior official in Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ), who, on March 23, 2011, was freed from prison in the wake of the Egyptian revolution. He was imprisoned in 1991 upon returning from a three-year sojourn in Afghanistan.

In the interview, Shehato expressed complete opposition to democracy "because it is not the faith of the Muslims, but the faith of the Jews and Christians." He said that although the youth of the Arab revolutions have not declared the implementation of shari'a as one of their goals, the mujahideen nonetheless identify with their aspiration to overthrow the Arab rulers, whom they had always considered "infidels who must be killed because they do not rule according to the shari'a." He added, however, that "once Allah's law is applied, the role of the people will end and Allah will reign supreme." He went on to say that although he supports Al-Qaeda's ideology, shari'a law would not be enforced by violence but by da'wa (preaching), whereas violence would be used only against the infidel Arab rulers.

Shehato said that if the mujahideen came to power in Egypt, they would launch a campaign of Islamic conquests aimed at subjecting the entire world to Islamic rule.

Muslim ambassadors would be appointed to each country, charged with calling upon them to join Islam willingly, but if the countries refused, war would be waged against them. He also described the nature of the Islamic state to be established in Egypt: there would be no trade or cultural ties with non-Muslims; tourist sites at the pyramids, the Sphinx, and Sharm Al-Sheikh would be shut down "because the tourists come [there] to drink alcohol and fornicate," and all tourists wishing to visit Egypt would be required to comply with the conditions and laws of Islam; all art, painting, singing, dancing, and sculpture would be forbidden, and all culture would be purely Islamic.

Following are excerpts of the interview:

Sheikh 'Adel Shehato

The Term "Democracy" is Not in the Arab or Islamic Lexicon; Once Allah's Law Reigns Supreme, the People's Role will End

Q: "Do you support the uprising?"

Shehato: "...The [Egyptian] youth rose up for a certain ideal... They did not rise up in order to put the shari'a into practice, nor did they [complain] that Mubarak's regime did not rule in accordance with the shari'a... As Muslims, we must believe that the Koran is our constitution, and that it is [therefore] impossible for us to institute a Western democratic regime. I oppose democracy because it is not the faith of the Muslims, but the faith of the Jews and Christians.

Simply put, democracy means the rule of the people itself over itself... According to Islam, it is forbidden for people to rule and to legislate laws, as Allah alone is ruler. Allah did not hand down the term [democracy] as a form of rule, and it is completely absent from the Arab and Islamic lexicon..."

Q: "If you do not believe in the rule of the people, why did you go out to Al-Tahrir Square with the slogan 'he People Wants to Implement the Shari'a?' Are you exploiting democracy in order to achieve what you want [only] to then abolish [democracy]?"

Shehato: "I am not exploiting democracy, since I have never joined and will never join politics or party activity... We believe that implementation of the shari'a [must be accomplished] far from the political game, though some [other] Islamic streams are willing to participate [in this game] in order to achieve the same goal [i.e., implementation of the shari'a]. We said that 'the people wants to implement the shari'a' because most of the people are Muslims, and also based on [our] reading of the situation on the ground. [At the same time,] we did not make demands for the people's sake in the people's name, but demanded the rule of Allah. And once Allah's law is instated, the role of the people will end and Allah will reign supreme."

Q: "How do you reconcile your opposition to the will of the people with the notion of shura [consultation] in Islam?"

Shehato: "'Shura' in Islam means that alongside the Muslim ruler, there is a steering council comprising the finest of the senior Muslim clerics, to be selected on the basis of their piety and political leadership [abilities]. But there is no consultation with commoners, such as workers and fallahin, nor is there consultation over issues that contravene the shari'a."

"The Christian is Free to Worship His God in His Church, but if the Christians Make Problems for the Muslims, I Will Exterminate Them"

Q: "What solution is the EIJ suggesting [today], after the revolution?"

Shehato: "...We still espouse the old jihadi ideology that is today the ideology of Sheikh Ayman Al-Zawahiri, the late Sheikh Osama bin Laden, and Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi... If the revolution was meant to overthrow the tyrant Mubarak, then we have always said that all the Arab rulers, without exception, are infidels who must be killed because they do not rule according to the shari'a. They are apostate infidels, as opposed to infidels like the Jews and Christians, and anyone who doubts that they are infidels is an infidel [himself]." (Islamic circular logic - if I am right I am right and if I am wrong I am right)!

Q: "But we Egyptians have never regarded the Christians as infidels. [In fact,] many of us have Christian friends even closer than our Muslim friends."

Shehato: "As a Muslim, I must support the Muslim and oppose the Christian. If there is a Christian who does me no harm, I will maintain limited contact with him. Islam [discusses] certain degrees of contact with the Christian, namely: keeping promises [that were made him], dealing honestly with him, treating him kindly, and befriending him. The first three are allowed, but the fourth [i.e., befriending the Christian] is deemed dangerous, for it contravenes the verse that says, 'O you who believe! Do not take my enemy and your enemy for friends: would you offer them love while they deny what has come to you of the truth' [Koran 60:1]. It is inconceivable that they should serve in judiciary or executive posts, for instance in the army or the police."

Q: "Are you against blowing up churches?"

Shehato: "Yes and no. The Christian is free to worship his god in his church, but if the Christians make problems for the Muslims, I will exterminate them. I am guided by the shari'a, and it stipulates that they must pay the jizya tax while in a state of humiliation..."

Q: "These positions of yours frighten us, as Egyptians."

Shehato: "I will not act [in ways] that contradict my faith just in order to please the people... We say to the Christians, convert to Islam or pay the jizya, otherwise we will fight you. The shari'a is not based on [human] logic but on divine law. That is why we oppose universal, manmade constitutions."

If the Muslims Rise to Power in Egypt, They Will Form Muslim Battalions to Enforce the Shari'a Worldwide

Q: "If you rise to power in Egypt, will you launch a campaign of Islamic conquest?"

Shehato: "Of course we will launch a campaign of Islamic conquest, throughout the world. As soon as the Muslims and Islam control Egypt and implement the shari'a [there], we will turn to the neighboring regions, [such as] Libya [to the west] and Sudan to the south. All the Muslims in the world who wish to see the shari'a implemented worldwide will join the Egyptian army in order to form Islamic battalions, whose task will be to bring about the victory of [our] faith. We hope that, with Allah's help, Egypt will be the spark [that sets off this process]..."

Q: "You said that you endorse the ideology of Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri. Does this mean that your way of implementing shari'a in Egypt will be through violence and war, like their [way]?"

Shehato: "No, we will implement the shari'a through da'wa [preaching], while violence will be directed only at the infidel Arab rulers. In their case, there is no choice but to use force, though the shari'a does not call it 'violence' but 'jihad for the sake of Allah.' There is no other way... because they have power and weapons..."

Q: "How will the foreign ministry [operate] in an Islamic state?"

Shehato: "There are Muslims and there are infidels. We will have ambassadors in every country. We want to call all other countries to join Islam, and that will be the task of the ambassadors. If [the countries] refuse, there will be war. We will not tolerate mutual trade and cultural ties with non-Muslims."

"In the [Islamic] State, There will Be Only Islamic Culture"

Q: "If you rise to power, what will be your approach to tourism?"

Shehato: "There will be tourism for purposes of [medical] treatment, but the tourism sites of the pyramids, the Sphinx, and Sharm Al-Sheikh will be shut down, because my task [as a ruler] is to get people to serve Allah rather than [other] people [i.e., tourists]. No proud Muslim will ever be willing to live off tourism profits, because the tourists come [to Egypt] to drink alcohol and fornicate. [If they] want to come, they must comply with the conditions and laws of Islam. We will explain to them that, according to the shari'a, the pyramids are [the remains of] a pagan and polytheistic age."

Q: "What will be the state of art and literature in such a state?"Shehato: "In Islam, there is no such thing as art. Painting, singing, and dancing are forbidden. Therefore, in the [Islamic] state there will be nothing but Islamic culture, for I cannot teach [people] the infidel culture. As for literature, such as [the works] of Naguib Mahfouz, it is forbidden. Naguib Mahfouz was a criminal who stimulated [people's] desires and struck a severe blow to modesty. We will return to the decent culture of the Muslims and the Muslim forefathers, and to Islamic history."

MORE TO PONDER

I have lived, loved, lost and loved again. Life is not easy,..... but it is what it is.

Cowboy rules for:

Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, and the rest of the Wild West are as follows:

1. Pull your pants up. You look like an idiot.

2. Turn your cap right, your head ain't crooked.

3. Let's get this straight: it's called a 'gravel road.' I drive a pickup truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you're gonna get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.

4. They are cattle. That's why they smell like cattle. They smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-10 & I-40 go east and west, I-17 & I-15 goes north and south. Pick one and go.

5. So you have a $60,000 car. We're impressed. We have $250,000 Combines that are driven only 3 weeks a year.

6. Every person in the Wild West waves. It's called being friendly. Try to understand the concept.

7. If that cell phone rings while a bunch of geese/pheasants/ducks/doves are comin' in during a hunt, we WILL shoot it outta your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear at the time.

8. Yeah. We eat trout, salmon, deer and elk. You really want sushi and caviar? It's available at the corner bait shop.

9. The 'Opener' refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November.

10. We open doors for women. That's applied to all women, regardless of age.

11. No, there's no 'vegetarian special' on the menu. Order steak, or you can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the 2 pounds of ham and turkey.

12. When we fill out a table, there are three main dishes: meats, vegetables, and breads. We use three spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup! Oh, yeah ... We don't care what you folks in Cincinnati call that stuff you eat... IT AIN'T REAL CHILI!!

13. You bring 'Coke' into my house, it better be brown, wet and served over ice. You bring 'Mary Jane' into my house, she better be cute, know how to shoot, drive a truck, and have long hair.

14. College and High School Football is as important here as the Giants, the Yankees, the Mets, the Lakers and the Knicks, and a dang site more fun to watch.

15. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards - it spooks the fish.

16. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump ain't music, anyway. We don't want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers! Refer back to #1!

A true Westerner will send this to at least 10 others and a few new friends that probably won't get it, but we're friendly so we share in hopes you can begin to understand what a real life is all about!!!

And there is more.............
The COWBOY Solution to save Gasoline.

OBAMA wants us to cut the amount of gasoline we use.....

The best way to stop using so much gasoline is to deport 15 million illegal immigrants!

That would be 15 million less people using our gas.
The price of gas would come down.....
Bring our troops home from Afghanistan to guard the borders....

When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the Border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Afghanistan ....

Tell him if he wants to come to AMERICA then he must serve a tour in OUR military....

Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it......

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.....
He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal resident.....
This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Afghanistan and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. .......

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Afghanistan anyway, withoutthe canteen, rifle or ammo.

Problem solved.....

WH Ramadan Dinner: OBAMA HONORED THE SACRIFICES THAT MUSLIM AMERICANS MADE ON 911

The more we hear of Obama's submission to Islam at the Iftar dinner at the White House, the more monstrous it gets. The Obama presidency, lethal for America.

The idea of talking only of the Muslim who died on 911 or the Muslim first responder that died on 911 (if there were more, you'd have heard about it) is classic Islamic supremacism. Every death was an incalculable loss, every death an attack on this country.

I am so disgusted by the singling out of the few Muslims who were part of the attack. If Obama and the Islamic supremacist machine is so insistent on pointing that out, why not point out that, according to Islam, they died as martyrs in an act of jihad?

Further, why is the motive behind these acts of war, jihad, prohibited from the national conversation or more specifically, this dinner?

This is sedition.

This speech by the President of the United States in the wake of the single largest loss of life in one day by devout Muslims in the act of jihad is treason. And the death toll mounts daily. And it's all jihad. Our warrior dead are not even buried yet, and he is mourning the Muslim victim and first responder who died on 911.

But remember Obama's Islamophile administration's declaration: the problem is "Islamophobia." Just keep repeating it to yourself: The problem is "Islamophobia." The problem is "Islamophobia." The problem is "Islamophobia."

When in fact it's his wild support of Islam that is the problem and endangering our nation!

White House Scrubs Web Site of Reference to ‘Jerusalem, Israel’

The Obama (Islam biased) White House, in removing one word from a photo caption on its Web site this week, has drawn fresh attention to two consecutive administrations’ tussles with Congress over whether American citizens born in Jerusalem should have the word “Israel” appear on their U.S. passports.
The move comes as the Supreme Court prepares to hear oral arguments in the fall in a case to determine whether the executive or legislative branch is empowered to decide the matter.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Friday described the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) as a “rogue agency” for its response to subpoenas he issued for documents related to the panel’s legal complaint against airplane manufacturer Boeing.

The NLRB has yet to provide any documents to Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The board’s general counsel said Friday in a letter to Issa that the NLRB was concerned about releasing any documents prematurely.

That provoked a harsh response from Issa, who said the NLRB’s hesitation put into question “the integrity of NLRB and its leadership.”

“The National Labor Relations Board and Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon have thus far failed to comply with a lawful subpoena,” Issa said in a statement released Friday. “This refusal by NLRB to abide by the law further heightens concerns that this is a rogue agency acting improperly.”

In his letter, Solomon said the NLRB continues to be “gravely concerned about the adverse effect any premature release of certain documents subject to the subpoena would have on the rights of the parties to this case to have a fair trial.”

Solomon also said the subpoenas were unnecessary because the agency has cooperated with Issa’s investigation.

“To date, this office has provided the committee with more than 1,500 pages of documents that should provide sufficient information to allow the committee to assess the legal merit of the Boeing complaint,” Solomon wrote to Issa. “This office has repeatedly pledged to provide information in a manner that protects the rights of the parties to the case. In keeping with our commitment, today we are providing the committee with more than 4,300 pages of additional documents now available to all parties.”

Issa said he was performing the duties of his chairmanship by investigating what compelled the panel to launch the case against Boeing, in which the NLRB argues the aircraft manufacturer decided to build a plant in South Carolina to retaliate for labor strikes at its existing facilities in Washington state. Issa has said the case appears to be politically motivated.

“The public has a right to know the truth about why a government agency would choose to take action to benefit organized labor that threatens thousands of non-union jobs in South Carolina while setting a precedent impacting manufacturers across the country,” he said. “It is imperative that Congress get complete facts about NLRB’s decision-making process in this matter. Its continued refusal to fully cooperate will not deter this committee as it moves forward in efforts to determine what occurred and to hold NLRB officials to account.”

Boeing opened the 787 plant at issue in June in Charleston, S.C. But if the NLRB complaint is ultimately successful, the company could be forced to build the planes it intends to build there in Seattle instead.

The case before the administrative law judge in Seattle is expected to last several weeks.

Meanwhile:

President Barack Obama has forcefully rejected calls for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over a controversial federal law enforcement operation that allegedly allowed hundreds of guns to flow to Mexican drug cartels.

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) and the National Rifle Association have called for Holder's resignation over "Operation Fast and Furious," the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives investigation that monitored suspicious gun sales. Several of the weapons have been recovered from drug gangs in Mexico and two guns were found at the scene of the shooting death of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent last December.

However, when asked at a roundtable with Spanish-language print media on Monday whether Holder should quit, Obama said flatly, "No."

Obama's anti-American oil  production "policies" hitting Federal Courts' opposition and getting overturned.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A judge on Friday threw out Obama administration rules that sought to slow down expedited environmental review of oil and gas drilling on federal land.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Freudenthal ruled in favor of a petroleum industry group, the Western Energy Alliance, in its lawsuit against the federal government, including Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.

The ruling reinstates Bush-era expedited oil and gas drilling under provisions called categorical exclusions on federal lands nationwide, Freudenthal said.

The government argued that oil and gas companies had no case because they didn't show how the new rules, implemented by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service last year, had created delays and added to the cost of drilling.

Freudenthal rejected that argument.

"Western Energy has demonstrated through its members recognizable injury," she said. "Those injuries are supported by the administrative record."

An attorney for the government declined to comment but Kathleen Sgamma, director of government and public affairs for the Denver-based Western Energy Alliance, praised the ruling.

"She completely discounted the government's argument that the harm was speculative," Sgamma said of the judge.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 allows the BLM and Forest Service to invoke categorical exclusions and skip new environmental review for drilling permits under certain circumstances.

The circumstances include instances where companies plan to disturb relatively little ground and environmental review already has been done for that area. A categorical exclusion also can be invoked when additional drilling is planned at a well pad where drilling has occurred within the previous five years.

Categorical exclusions were widely used throughout the West — especially in the gas boom states of Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico — until last year.

(Obama protecting oil imports from the Arab Middle East by blocking USA produced energy sources from being productive. AND expanding his master Soros' huge investments in Brazil oil company.

A foreign  oil source Obama is ACTUALLY FUNDING with our taxpayer money to develop deep offshore drilling while banning it in the USA and losing the deep sea floating rigs we had to other countries. Some to Brazil an others to South Africa).

His perfidy and clear treachery to the USA has as much to do with our Credit Rating downgrade as the HUGE FINANCIAL LOSSES HE HAS CAUSED and humoungus spending of OUR money.

N ow that he has no more of OUR MONEY to aste he has becom a cry-baby whiner!

WASHINGTON, Aug. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which is actively challenging ObamaCare, said today's decision by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals declaring the individual mandate of ObamaCare unconstitutional represents a "critical step forward in undoing ObamaCare."

(Alan note: Unlike the ultra-liberal (almost Keystone Cops) 9th Circuit Court, which gets about 90% of their decisions overturned, the 11th is a "serious" well-reputed bench, so their opinion and latest decision is important).

"The appeals court got it right and the decision represents a critical step forward in undoing ObamaCare," said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ, which is involved in litigation challenging ObamaCare.

"The individual mandate, which forces Americans to purchase health insurance, exceeds the authority of the Commerce Clause. We're delighted that the appeals court recognized that fact. While the appeals court did not declare the entire law unconstitutional, by striking the individual mandate, the entire law is clearly in jeopardy. We remain hopeful that the Supreme Court will ultimately declare the entire health care law unconstitutional."

The ACLJ filed an amicus brief backing Florida's position in the 11th circuit case representing 74 members of Congress and more than 70,000 Americans. That brief is posted here:
http://c0391070.cdn2.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/pdf/obamacare-reply-brief-dc-circuit-7-25-11.pdf (PDF).

The ACLJ is preparing for oral arguments in its own federal court challenge of ObamaCare. The ACLJ will present arguments to a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C.September 23rd urging the court to reinstate its lawsuit challenging the individual mandate. In our latest court filing, posted here(PDF), the ACLJ contends that the individual mandate violates the Commerce Clause, an argument "grounded in the Constitution."

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the ACLJ is based in Washington, D.C. and is online at http://www.aclj.org/ .

Transcript of “We the People.” [from Album Notes]

Dear President Obama,

“We The People” have stated resolutely we reject your vision for our country. You claim you have not heard us.

“We The People” have assembled across America resisting your efforts to subvert our constitution and undermine our liberty. You claim you have not seen us.

Since you have not acknowledged our message, let us here present it once more for if as President Wilson said, “a leader’s ear must ring with the voices of the people,” the time has come.

Our greatest treasure is freedom – the absence of restraints on our ability to think and to act. The corollary of freedom is individual responsibility. We believe in the power of the individual.

A few years ago President Bush said, “History moves toward freedom because the desire for freedom is written in every human heart.” Let us add that we will preserve it only as long as devotion to freedom is expressed in the heart of our actions.

When President Lincoln dedicated Gettysburg National Cemetery he declared, “It is for us the living to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus so nobly advanced.”

That unfinished cause for which our soldiers willingly go to battle and for which so many have given their lives is a free United States of America. It has been nearly one hundred fifty years and the work President Lincoln spoke of is not finished. In fact, that work will never be finished.

Freedom is the capacity of self-determination. It is not an entity but a condition and conditions change. Freedom can expand, yet so can it contract.

You promised change when you took office, Mr. President, but subjugation is not change we wanted or will accept.

You have expanded government, violated our Constitution, confounded laws, seized private industry, destroyed jobs, perverted our economy, curtailed free speech, corrupted our currency, weakened our national security, and endangered our sovereignty.

By compromising our nation’s cultural, legal and economic institutions, you are ensuring that our children will never achieve the same quality of life as we enjoy today. Through generational theft you are robbing the unborn of opportunity.

This is not acceptable. Not in America. We did not become a strong nation through hope but rather through self-reliance.

No one better understands the relationship between individual achievement, dignity and strength than our armed forces. Through every war our soldiers have held this nation’s destiny in their hands. They have not failed us. They cherish freedom enough that they are willing to die for it.

Our duty to them and to ourselves is to treasure freedom enough to live up to it.

We accept the challenge, Mr. President. That is why we are assembling across the land to deliver our message to you as often and in every way we can. Dismiss us at your political peril.

Our great nation is a Republic. We will not accept tyranny under any guise. Your policy to redistribute the fruits of our labor is Statism and will not be tolerated.

By our honor, Mr. President, we vow forever to resist coercive government in America. Patriots will not stand silent as you attempt to dismantle the greatest nation on earth. “We The People” will defend our liberty. We will protect our beloved country and America’s exceptionalism will prevail.

God Bless the United States of America!

Sincerely,

We The People

SARAH PALIN COMMENTS

Conquering the Storm by Sarah Palin on Monday, August 8, 2011

In the coming days we’ll sort through the repercussions of S&P’s downgrade of our credit rating, including concerns about the impact a potential interest rate increase would have on our ability to service our suffocating $14.5 trillion debt.

I’m surprised that so many people seem surprised by S&P’s decision. Weren’t people paying attention over the last year or so when we were getting warning after warning from various credit rating agencies that this was coming? I’ve been writing and speaking about it myself for quite some time.

Back in December 2010, I wrote: “If the European debt crisis teaches us anything, it’s that tomorrow always comes. Sooner or later, the markets will expect us to settle the bill for the enormous Obama-Pelosi-Reid spending binge. We’ve already been warned by the credit ratings agency Moody’s that unless we get serious about reducing our deficit, we may face a downgrade of our credit rating.”

And again in January, in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address I wrote: “With credit ratings agency Moody’s warning us that the federal government must reverse the rapid growth of national debt or face losing our triple-A rating, keep in mind that a nation doesn’t look so ‘great’ when its credit rating is in tatters.”

One doesn’t need a Harvard Law degree to figure this out! Just look across the pond at Europe. European nations with less debt and smaller deficits than ours and with real “austerity” plans in place to deal with them have had their ratings downgraded.

By what magical thinking did we figure we could run up perpetual trillion dollar deficits and still somehow avoid the unforgiving mathematics of a downgrade?

Nothing is ever “too big to fail.” And there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Didn’t we all learn that in our micro and macro econ classes? I did at the University of Idaho. How could Obama skip through Columbia and Harvard without learning that?

Many commonsense Americans like myself saw this day coming. In fact, in June 2010, Rick Santelli articulated the view of independent Tea Party patriots everywhere when he shouted on CNBC, “I want the government to stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! STOP SPENDING!”

So, how shamelessly cynical and dishonest must one be to blame this inevitable downgrade on the very people who have been shouting all along “stop spending”?

Blaming the Tea Party for our credit downgrade is akin to Nero blaming the Christians for burning Rome. Tea Party Americans weren’t the ones “fiddling” while our country’s fiscal house was going up in smoke. In fact, we commonsense fiscal conservatives were the ones grabbing for the extinguishers while politically correct politicians and their cronies buried their heads in what soon became this bonfire.

With S&P and others now warning that we could face another downgrade if we don’t get serious about our debt problem (i.e., recklessly spending money we don't have), Washington needs to wake up before things get worse! We’re already hearing murmurs about QE3, which is just madness and will further debase our currency at a time when the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency is already being questioned.

The loss of the dollar’s reserve currency status would adversely impact us in every conceivable way. Our standard of living would decline as imports become more expensive (including imports of foreign oil), government wouldn’t be able to finance deficits as cheaply, and American corporations – employers – would lose a competitive edge. It would be another crack in our status as a financial superpower.

Last May, I gave a speech at Westhills Community College in Lemoore, California, to an audience that included farmers from California’s Central Valley. I tried to paint a picture for them of where all of this was heading. The following is an excerpt from my prepared remarks:

Now we’re all getting hit with rising food prices too. Back in November of last year, I predicted this would happen when the Federal Reserve dropped a $600 billion money bomb called QE2 on us!

That’s short for “quantitative easing 2.” It’s a fancy term for running the printing presses and creating money out of thin air – which drives down the value of the dollar and makes the price of everything more expensive.

As I predicted six months ago, these policies will lead us down a path where for the first time in our history our fate will be taken out of our own hands and placed in the hands of the world’s capital markets. They will force us to make the responsible decisions that our leaders are unwilling to make.

Just as the destinies of the  CALIFORNIA Central Valley farms have been taken out of your hands by the federal government’s overreach into your water rights, so the destiny of our nation will be taken out of our hands because our leadership has failed to get our financial house in order.

This isn’t some theoretical threat any more. It’s already happening.

The world’s biggest bond investment fund PIMCO announced last month that it was dumping U.S. Treasury bonds. The head of PIMCO, Bill Gross, one of the world’s preeminent debt investors, warned that the U.S. is in serious risk of default with our trillion dollar deficits and no end in sight. And last week, credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s downgraded our credit outlook to “negative” – that’s the first time that has happened to us since the attack on Pearl Harbor. The IMF has even given us formal notice that, unless we do something to deal with our debt problem, we could tip the world economy into another recession.

It is a disgraceful and embarrassing situation when the United States finds itself justifiably chastised in the same tone normally reserved for near-bankrupt economies.

And in this, like in shutting off your water, the federal government has failed you.

Their reckless spending and destruction of the dollar will make access to available credit for farmers and small business owners harder to get. And it will make transportation costs higher because it will hit everyone at the gas pump.

You see, because the Obama White House won’t let us drill domestically, we’re forced to import oil that we pay for it in dollars. So, when the value of the dollar drops, the price of gas goes up. And if you think $4 a gallon is bad, wait till you see what life is like at $6 or $7 a gallon.

Last November, the so-called smart people all laughed at me when I warned them of this. They told me not to make such a big deal about rising prices. Well, guess what – it became a big deal all on its own.

In fact, there was an editorial in the New York Sun that said – and I quote: “As gasoline is nearing six dollars a gallon at some pumps, the cost of groceries is skyrocketing, and the value of the dollars…has collapsed to less than a 1,500th of an ounce of gold. Unemployment is still high. Shakespeare couldn’t come up with a better plot. But how in the world did Mrs. Palin, who is supposed to be so thick, manage to figure all this out so far ahead of the New York Times and all the economists it talked to?”

Well, I’m sure the New York Times writers will remember the famous line: “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.” And right now the American economy is in the howling, hot headwinds of a gathering storm. We’re printing up and buying up our own notes at an unprecedented rate, and the Fed is artificially holding interest rates down to nearly zero.

Anyone with commonsense could see what was coming. Unfortunately, common sense is in short supply among our leaders. It’s like they never believe that the rules of common sense apply to them. They think somehow we'll escape from the consequences of their policies. It’s the same magical thinking that allows them to run up trillion dollar deficits and still think that we can “win the future.”

Every other generation has weathered recessions by sacrifice and belt tightening. But our leaders today decided that they could magically paper over the tough decisions by running the printing presses. A little history lesson might have showed them how well that worked out for Germany in the 1930s.

The Weimar Republic inflated its currency so much that it took a wheel barrel full of paper money to buy a loaf of bread. That might be the main thing I remember from Mr. Crum’s history class at Wasilla High, but it told me all I needed to know about the inflationary dangers of a weak currency and why we must avoid it. What a shame Mr. Crum didn’t teach at Harvard.

That was just three months ago, and things have already gotten worse. We have to face this storm head on. It won’t be easy, but there are real solutions to grow our economy and reduce our debt.

First, we need to get serious about our deficit. No more accounting gimmicks. No more cuts in “out-years” that never materialize. The permanent political class in D.C. might be fooling themselves with these Enron-like accounting games, but they’re not fooling the world’s capital markets. And we don’t need any more happy talk from the White House about “investing” in solar shingles and really fast trains.

The White House shouldn’t even bother floating these new spending programs. We can’t afford them. Period.

We need to stop this deficit spending, balance our budget, repeal Obamacare, cancel all unused stimulus funds, and reform our entitlement programs. We have to have an adult conversation about our spending commitments; circumstances have changed, and we must adapt. I know none of this will be easy, but, “thick” or not, the average American outside the D.C. politico bubble knows that we no longer have a choice! We will have entitlement reform and a balanced budget; it’s just a matter of how. We can do it ourselves in a calm, methodical, and responsible manner, or we can wait for the world’s capital markets to ram it down on us.

Let’s be responsible and do it ourselves. And let’s get serious about reducing the size of government across the board and rooting out waste. How many more reports (that today are destined to merely gather dust on the shelf) do we need about duplicative and unnecessary programs before we actually do something about government waste?

We need to get this economy moving again, and the real stimulus we’ve been waiting for is domestic energy development. We must reduce our dangerous dependence on foreign oil by responsibly developing natural resources here. This will provide good paying jobs, reduce our trade deficit, increase federal and state revenue, ensure environmental standards, and actually stimulate our economy without incurring any debt. That’s real stimulus! Affordable, plentiful, and secure energy is the foundation of every thriving economy.

Let’s make it the foundation of ours. Let’s do the opposite of President Obama’s manipulation of U.S. energy supplies. Let’s drill here, build refineries, and stop kowtowing to foreign countries in asking them to ramp up energy production which makes us even more beholden to them as we rely on their foreign product.

Let’s move on tapping our massive domestic natural gas reserves. Natural gas is the perfect “bridge fuel” to a future when more renewable sources are available. It’s clean, it’s green, and we’ve got a lot of it. Let’s drill. Let’s build an infrastructure for natural gas cars and power plants. Energy development can help kick start our economic engine.

In addition to energy security, I embrace a pro-growth agenda that can make American corporations far more competitive on the global stage. (I will be writing more about this in the coming days.) We need to tell the world, “America is open for business again!” And let’s welcome industry by reducing burdensome regulations.

The Obama administration keeps strangling businesses in red tape. From the EPA’s rulings to that nightmare known as Obamacare, the Obama administration is hanging one regulatory albatross after another around the private sector’s neck. Let’s get government out of the way and give the private sector room to breathe, grow, and thrive. We can provide businesses confidence to expand and hire Americans in a stable environment.

Be wary of the efforts President Obama makes to “fix” the debt problem. The more he tries to “fix” things, the worse they get because his “solutions” always involve spending more, taxing more, growing government, and increasing debt. This debt problem is the greatest challenge facing our country today. Obviously, President Obama doesn’t have a plan or even a notion of how to deal with it. His press conference today was just a rehash of his old talking points and finger-pointing. That’s why he can’t be re-elected in 2012.

Our economic news is disheartening and the task before can seem daunting, but we must not lose our sense of optimism. People look around today and may see only the negative. They see a culture and a nation in decline, but that’s not who we are! America must regain its optimistic pioneering spirit again. Our founders declared that “we were born the heirs of freedom.” We are the heirs of those who froze with Washington at Valley Forge, who held the line at Gettysburg, who freed the slaves, carved a nation out of the wilderness, and allowed reward for work ethic. We are the sons and daughters of that Greatest Generation who stormed the beaches of Normandy, raised the flag at Iwo Jima, and made America the strongest and most prosperous nation in the history of mankind. By God, we will not squander what has been given us!

Our destiny is still in our own hands if we pick ourselves up and act responsibly and quickly. We must all get involved. Concerned Americans must seek truth, work harder than ever, and be willing to sacrifice today to ensure freedom tomorrow.

Please get engaged in 2012 electoral politics and support experienced, vetted, pro-free market fiscal conservatives who will dedicate all to preserving our Republic and protecting our Constitution.

SARAH PALIN HOLDS STRONG AND STEADY

By Lloyd Marcus

Sarah Palin's latest “in your face” to the Obama administration in defense of the tea party is guaranteed to infuriate the left and terrify the timid on our side. Sarah said, “If we were real domestic terrorists, shoot, Obama would want to pal around with us, wouldn't he?”

Wow! I looovvvvve this woman!

Compare Palin's kahonies to those of Republican presidential candidate, Jon Huntsman. Huntsman encouraged Republicans to surrender to Obama during the debt ceiling battle. Get this folks, as a contender for the White House, Huntsman said he will not attack Obama.

How absurd is that? Huntsman's going into the ring with the Mike Tyson of politics, and his strategy is not to hit.

Compared to the John Wayne true grit of Sarah Palin, Mr Huntsman sounds pathetically metro-sexual.

Talk about a “no surrender, no retreat” attitude, despite a relentless unprecedented effort to destroy her and her family, Palin is just as bold and beautiful as she was when she gave her extraordinary VP nominee acceptance speech in 2008.

I know you fearful folks on our side will flood me with emails about how Palin is too this or too that. Well I am sorry, but every time this woman speaks, I feel excited. But most important, I feel empowered. After the Republicans' depressing cave on the debt ceiling, Lord knows we tea party patriots desperately need to feel empowered.

So many folks on our side feel they must walk on eggshells, careful not to offend the left. Palin boldly and unapologetically stands up for God, family and country.

The left has so successfully branded traditional values embraced by most Americans extreme, many feel intimidated and fearful to stand up for them. For example. I caught a minute of a TV show called The Glee Project which is obviously targeted for youths. The show featured young couples, including two boys as a couple, sexually caressing each other while singing a song about “going all the way”. The musical production number was a blatant promotion of homosexuality and promiscuity to our kids.

Call me an old fuddy-duddy and while I realize the TV show is on cable, I still found it a bit shocking and outrageous that such programming is considered normal.

The left appears to be calling the shots, setting the rules, culturally and politically. Advisers say we Conservatives must be civil, willing to compromise and work with the other side.

I am all for civility, but it only works when both sides have honorable intentions. Civility does not work when one side, Obama and the Democrats, treats the discord as a no-holds-barred street brawl. The left views civility from their opposition as a window of opportunity to strike and land a deathblow.

Sarah Palin fully understands this reality. Palin realizes the left will never fight fair or be honest. Pandering to the left is perceived as weakness. Thus, the only solution is to defeat them.

I still marvel at how some people on our side have bought into the Obama media's manufactured image of Palin.

While the left's destruction of her image is extremely successful on some level, Palin's “right stuff” still bursts through, casting a powerful beam of light exhilarating millions. Palin has “it.” Whatever that “it” is, this amazing woman has “it.”

Can you imagine the excitement of Palin throwing her hat into the 2012 presidential ring? Move over, Thrilla in Manila (Ali/Frazier), as the most exciting fight of all time. I'm talkin' Palin vs Obama, Mano a Mano: the Thrilla from Wasilla vs. the Chicago Thug.

Betting on this “fight of the century” could help Vegas's economy recover from Reed being their senator and Obama trashing businesses that go there.

The more I think about Palin vs. Obama in the ring, the more excited I become. Images flash in my brain. It is the long-awaited, much-anticipated day of the main event.

Palin enters the ring wearing an Old Glory-themed robe to Lee Greenwood singing, “God Bless the USA (Proud to be an America).” Obama enters the ring wearing a pink robe, courtesy of Code Pink, as Al Sharpton sings, “We Shall Overcome”.

For 14 rounds, Obama and Palin pound each other as the upper hand changes several times. Then, round fifteen -- the final round.

Palin, exhausted from battling Obama and his tag-team partner, the liberal media, miraculously lands a knockout punch to Obama's jaw. The final bell rings. The fight is over. Sarah Palin has won the 2012 presidential election. The crowd of mostly Tea Party patriots goes crazy with jubilation. Obama's media is stunned.

Reporters flock to the rubber-legged, emotionally drained Palin. Sarah's eyes focus on her husband Todd as he pushes his way through the thronging media. Sarah tearfully yells, “Tooooooodd!” Todd yells, “Sarrah!!!”

Finally he reaches her. They embrace, “Todd, I love you!” “I love you too!” is Todd's reply. Our national anthem plays in the background.

IRANIAN LEADER URGES BOYCOTT OF ANYTHING JEWISH

This Iranian proposal may very well end the world's Muslim problems.

A short time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Muslim World to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people.

In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:

"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. He should not even try to find out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test is the discovery of a Jew. If a Muslim suspects that he has Gonorrhea, he must not seek diagnosis, because he will be using the method of a Jew named Neissner.

"A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a discovery by a Jew, Ludwig Traube.

"Should he suffer with a toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a discovery of the Jews, Widal and Weil.

"If a Muslim has Diabetes, he must not use Insulin, the result of research by Minkowsky, a Jew. If one has a headache, he must shun Pyramidon and Antypyrin, due to the Jews, Spiro and Ellege.

"Muslims with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew, Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate.

"Arabs must do likewise with their psychic ailments because Freud, father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew.

"Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he must refrain from the "Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew, Bella Schick.

"Muslims should be ready to die in great numbers and must not permit treatment of ear and brain damage, work of Nobel Prize winner, Robert Baram.

"They should continue to die or remain crippled by Infantile Paralysis because the discoverer of the anti-polio vaccine is a Jew, Jonas Salk.

"Muslims must refuse to use Streptomycin and continue to die of Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing disease.

"Muslim doctors must discard all discoveries and improvements by dermatologist Judas Sehn Benedict, or the lung specialist, Frawnkel, and of many other world renowned Jewish scientists and medical experts.

"In short, good and loyal Muslims properly and fittingly should remain afflicted with Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease, Headaches, Typhus, Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio Convulsions and Tuberculosis and be proud to obey the Islamic boycott."

Oh, and remind me again, what medical contributions to the world have the Muslims made? Or contribution to the well-being of the world? Or the well-being of fellow Moslems!

SAUDI CONFIDENCE IN USA VANISHING as is their support for Obama

Alan note: Obama's anti-Israel, pro-Iran/Syria, pro-Shia Islam, chosen position loses Saudi support for a perceived treacherous, unreliable USA.

Another "ally" albbeit two-faced - being shoved under the Obama bus that destabilizes the WORLD as it moves forward. Far worse than Jimmuh the Idiot Carter's efforts to do the same. Moronic Obama for Islam and Marxism, Carter for Soviet Communism and sheer stupidity.

By Reva Bhalla

Something extraordinary, albeit not unexpected, is happening in the Persian Gulf region. The United States, lacking a coherent strategy to deal with Iran and too distracted to develop one, is struggling to navigate Iraq’s fractious political landscape in search of a deal that would allow Washington to keep a meaningful military presence in the country beyond the end-of-2011 deadline stipulated by the current Status of Forces Agreement. At the same time, Saudi Arabia, dubious of U.S. capabilities and intentions toward Iran, appears to be inching reluctantly toward an accommodation with its Persian adversary.

Iran clearly stands to gain from this dynamic in the short term as it seeks to reshape the balance of power in the world’s most active energy arteries. But Iranian power is neither deep nor absolute. Instead, Tehran finds itself racing against a timetable that hinges not only on the U.S. ability to shift its attention from its ongoing wars in the Middle East but also on Turkey’s ability to grow into its historic regional role.

The Iranian Position

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said something last week that caught our attention. Speaking at Iran’s first Strategic Naval Conference in Tehran on July 13, Vahidi said the United States is “making endeavors to drive a wedge between regional countries with the aim of preventing the establishment of an indigenized security arrangement in the region, but those attempts are rooted in misanalyses and will not succeed.” The effect Vahidi spoke of refers to the Iranian redefinition of Persian Gulf power dynamics, one that in Iran’s ideal world ultimately would transform the local political, business, military and religious affairs of the Gulf states to favor the Shia and their patrons in Iran.

From Iran’s point of view, this is a natural evolution, and one worth waiting centuries for. It would see power concentrated among the Shia in Mesopotamia, eastern Arabia and the Levant at the expense of the Sunnis who have dominated this land since the 16th century, when the Safavid Empire lost Iraq to the Ottomans. Ironically, Iran owes its thanks for this historic opportunity to its two main adversaries — the Wahhabi Sunnis of al Qaeda who carried out the 9/11 attacks and the “Great Satan” that brought down Saddam Hussein. Should Iran succeed in filling a major power void in Iraq, a country that touches six Middle Eastern powers and demographically favors the Shia, Iran would theoretically have its western flank secured as well as an oil-rich outlet with which to further project its influence.

So far, Iran’s plan is on track. Unless the United States permanently can station substantial military forces in the region, Iran replaces the United States as the most powerful military force in the Persian Gulf region. In particular, Iran has the military ability to threaten the Strait of Hormuz and has a clandestine network of operatives spread across the region. Through its deep penetration of the Iraqi government, Iran is also in the best position to influence Iraqi decision-making. Washington’s obvious struggle in trying to negotiate an extension of the U.S. deployment in Iraq is perhaps one of the clearest illustrations of Iranian resolve to secure its western flank.

The Iranian nuclear issue, as we have long argued, is largely a sideshow; a nuclear deterrent, if actually achieved, would certainly enhance Iranian security, but the most immediate imperative for Iran is to consolidate its position in Iraq. And as this weekend’s Iranian incursion into northern Iraq — ostensibly to fight Kurdish militants — shows, Iran is willing to make measured, periodic shows of force to convey that message.

While Iran already is well on its way to accomplishing its goals in Iraq, it needs two other key pieces to complete Tehran’s picture of a regional “indigenized security arrangement” that Vahidi spoke of. The first is an understanding with its main military challenger in the region, the United States. Such an understanding would entail everything from ensuring Iraqi Sunni military impotence to expanding Iranian energy rights beyond its borders to placing limits on U.S. military activity in the region, all in return for the guaranteed flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz and an Iranian pledge to stay clear of Saudi oil fields.

The second piece is an understanding with its main regional adversary, Saudi Arabia. Iran’s reshaping of Persian Gulf politics entails convincing its Sunni neighbors that resisting Iran is not worth the cost, especially when the United States does not seem to have the time or the resources to come to their aid at present. No matter how much money the Saudis throw at Western defense contractors, any military threat by the Saudi-led Gulf Cooperation Council states against Iran will be hollow without an active U.S. military commitment. Iran’s goal, therefore, is to coerce the major Sunni powers into recognizing an expanded Iranian sphere of influence at a time when U.S. security guarantees in the region are starting to erode.

Of course, there is always a gap between intent and capability, especially in the Iranian case. Both negotiating tracks are charged with distrust, and meaningful progress is by no means guaranteed. That said, a number of signals have surfaced in recent weeks leading us to examine the potential for a Saudi-Iranian accommodation, however brief that may be.

The Saudi Position

Not surprisingly, Saudi Arabia is greatly unnerved by the political evolution in Iraq. The Saudis increasingly will rely on regional powers such as Turkey in trying to maintain a Sunni bulwark against Iran in Iraq, but Riyadh has largely resigned itself to the idea that Iraq, for now, is in Tehran’s hands. This is an uncomfortable reality for the Saudi royals to cope with, but what is amplifying Saudi Arabia’s concerns in the region right now — and apparently nudging Riyadh toward the negotiating table with Tehran — is the current situation in Bahrain.

When Shiite-led protests erupted in Bahrain in the spring, we did not view the demonstrations simply as a natural outgrowth of the so-called Arab Spring. There were certainly overlapping factors, but there was little hiding the fact that Iran had seized an opportunity to pose a nightmare scenario for the Saudi royals: an Iranian-backed Shiite uprising spreading from the isles of Bahrain to the Shiite-concentrated, oil-rich Eastern Province of the Saudi kingdom.

This explains Saudi Arabia’s hasty response to the Bahraini unrest, during which it led a rare military intervention of GCC forces in Bahrain at the invitation of Manama to stymie a broader Iranian destabilization campaign. The demonstrations in Bahrain are far calmer now than they were in mid-March at the peak of the crisis, but the concerns of the GCC states have not subsided, and for good reason. Halfhearted attempts at national dialogues aside, Shiite dissent in this part of the region is likely to endure, and this is a reality that Iran can exploit in the long term through its developing covert capabilities.

When we saw in late June that Saudi Arabia was willingly drawing down its military presence in Bahrain at the same time the Iranians were putting out feelers in the local press on an almost daily basis regarding negotiations with Riyadh, we discovered through our sources that the pieces were beginning to fall into place for Saudi-Iranian negotiations. To understand why, we have to examine the Saudi perception of the current U.S. position in the region.

The Saudis cannot fully trust U.S. intentions at this point. The U.S. position in Iraq is tenuous at best, and Riyadh cannot rule out the possibility of Washington entering its own accommodation with Iran and thus leaving Saudi Arabia in the lurch. The United States has three basic interests: to maintain the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, to reduce drastically the number of forces it has devoted to fighting wars with Sunni Islamist militants (who are also by definition at war with Iran), and to try to reconstruct a balance of power in the region that ultimately prevents any one state — whether Arab or Persian — from controlling all the oil in the Persian Gulf.

The U.S. position in this regard is flexible, and while developing an understanding with Iran is a trying process, nothing fundamentally binds the United States to Saudi Arabia. If the United States comes to the conclusion that it does not have any good options in the near term for dealing with Iran, a U.S.-Iranian accommodation — however jarring on the surface — is not out of the question.

More immediately, the main point of negotiation between the United States and Iran is the status of U.S. forces in Iraq. Iran would prefer to see U.S. troops completely removed from its western flank, but it has already seen dramatic reductions. The question for both sides moving forward concerns not only the size but also the disposition and orientation of those remaining forces and the question of how rapidly they can be reoriented from a more vulnerable residual advisory and assistance role to a blocking force against Iran. It also must take into account how inherently vulnerable a U.S. military presence in Iraq (not to mention the remaining diplomatic presence) is to Iranian conventional and unconventional means.

The United States may be willing to recognize Iranian demands when it comes to Iran’s designs for the Iraqi government or oil concessions in the Shiite south, but it also wants to ensure that Iran does not try to overstep its bounds and threaten Saudi Arabia’s oil wealth. To reinforce a potential accommodation with Iran, the United States needs to maintain a blocking force against Iran, and this is where the U.S.-Iranian negotiation appears to be deadlocked.

The threat of a double-cross is a real one for all sides to this conflict. Iran cannot trust that the United States, once freed up, will not engage in military action against Iran down the line. The Americans cannot trust that the Iranians will not make a bid for Saudi Arabia’s oil wealth (though the military logistics required for such a move are likely beyond Iran’s capabilities at this point). Finally, the Saudis can’t trust that the United States will defend it in a time of need, especially if the United States is preoccupied with other matters and/or has developed a relationship with Iran that it feels the need to maintain.

When all this is taken together — the threat illustrated by Shiite unrest in Bahrain, the tenuous U.S. position in Iraq and the potential for Washington to strike its own deal with Tehran — Riyadh may be seeing little choice but to search out a truce with Iran, at least until it can get a clearer sense of U.S. intentions. This does not mean that the Saudis would place more trust in a relationship with their historical rivals, the Persians, than they would in a relationship with the United States.

Saudi-Iranian animosity is embedded in a deep history of political, religious and economic competition between the two main powerhouses of the Persian Gulf, and it is not going to vanish with the scratch of a pen and a handshake. Instead, this would be a truce driven by short-term, tactical constraints. Such a truce would primarily aim to arrest Iranian covert activity linked to Shiite dissidents in the GCC states, giving the Sunni monarchist regimes a temporary sense of relief while they continue their efforts in trying to build up an Arab resistance to Iran.

But Iran would view such a preliminary understanding as the path toward a broader accommodation, one that would bestow recognition on Iran as the pre-eminent power of the Persian Gulf. Iran can thus be expected to make a variety of demands, all revolving around the idea of Sunni recognition of an expanded Iranian sphere of influence — a very difficult idea for Saudi Arabia to swallow.

This is where things get especially complicated. The United States theoretically might strike an accommodation with Iran, but it would do so only with the knowledge that it could rely on the traditional Sunni heavyweights in the region eventually to rebuild a relative balance of power.

If the major Sunni powers reach their own accommodation with Iran, independent of the United States, the U.S. position in the region becomes all the more questionable. What would be the limits of a Saudi-Iranian negotiation? Could the United States ensure, for example, that Saudi Arabia would not bargain away U.S. military installations in a negotiation with Iran?

The Iranian defense minister broached this very idea during his speech last week when he said, “the United States has failed to establish a sustainable security system in the Persian Gulf region, and it is not possible that many vessels will maintain a permanent presence in the region.” Vahidi was seeking to convey to fellow Iranians and trying to convince the Sunni Arab powers that a U.S. security guarantee in the region does not hold as much weight as it used to, and that with Iran now filling the void, the United States may well face a much more difficult time trying to maintain its existing military installations.

The question that naturally arises from Vahidi’s statement is the future status of the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet in Bahrain, and whether Iran can instill just the right amount of fear in the minds of its Arab neighbors to shake the foundations of the U.S. military presence in the region. For now, Iran does not appear to have the military clout to threaten the GCC states to the point of forcing them to negotiate away their U.S. security guarantees in exchange for Iranian restraint. This is a threat, however, that Iran will continue to let slip and even one that Saudi Arabia quietly could use to capture Washington’s attention in the hopes of reinforcing U.S. support for the Sunni Arabs against Iran.

The Long-Term Scenario

The current dynamic places Iran in a prime position. Its political investment is paying off in Iraq, and it is positioning itself for negotiation with both the Saudis and the Americans that it hopes will fill out the contours of Iran’s regional sphere of influence. But Iranian power is not that durable in the long term.

Iran is well endowed with energy resources, but it is populous and mountainous. The cost of internal development means that while Iran can get by economically, it cannot prosper like many of its Arab competitors. Add to that a troubling demographic profile in which ethnic Persians constitute only a little more than half of the country’s population and developing challenges to the clerical establishment, and Iran clearly has a great deal going on internally distracting it from opportunities abroad.

The long-term regional picture also is not in Iran’s favor. Unlike Iran, Turkey is an ascendant country with the deep military, economic and political power to influence events in the Middle East — all under a Sunni banner that fits more naturally with the region’s religious landscape. Turkey also is the historical, indigenous check on Persian power. Though it will take time for Turkey to return to this role, strong hints of this dynamic already are coming to light.

In Iraq, Turkish influence can be felt across the political, business, security and cultural spheres as Ankara is working quietly and fastidiously to maintain a Sunni bulwark in the country and steep Turkish influence in the Arab world. And in Syria, though the Alawite regime led by the al Assads is not at a breakpoint, there is no doubt a confrontation building between Iran and Turkey over the future of the Syrian state.

Turkey has an interest in building up a viable Sunni political force in Syria that can eventually displace the Alawites, while Iran has every interest in preserving the current regime so as to maintain a strategic foothold in the Levant.

For now, the Turks are not looking for a confrontation with Iran, nor are they necessarily ready for one. Regional forces are accelerating Turkey’s rise, but it will take experience and additional pressures for Turkey to translate rhetoric into action when it comes to meaningful power projection. This is yet another factor that is likely driving the Saudis to enter their own dialogue with Iran at this time.

The Iranians are thus in a race against time. It may be a matter of a few short years before the United States frees up its attention span and is able to re-examine the power dynamics in the Persian Gulf with fresh vigor. Within that time, we would also expect Turkey to come into its own and assume its role as the region’s natural counterbalance to Iran. By then, the Iranians hope to have the structures and agreements in place to hold their ground against the prevailing regional forces, but that level of long-term security depends on Tehran’s ability to cut its way through two very thorny sets of negotiations with the Saudis and the Americans while it still has the upper hand.

DEBKAfile Special Analysis

10 July. The News of the World hacking scandal hanging over Rupert Murdoch's global empire and British Prime minister David Cameron could conceivably erupt in Israel where tycoons with large media holdings also aspire to determine who rules the country. Tabloid methods are just as dodgy in Israel, but the difference lies in that the influence the British media has over the voter thanks to their high professional standards which attract huge audiences.

In Israel, local and foreign billionaires have successfully wielded the media against government decisions and persons more than once, but they miss influencing the voter. In every general election in the last two decades, the average Israeli voter has turned against the op-ed views of the mainstream newspapers and TV news channels.

Israeli newspaper and news broadcasts' audiences are shrinking because they offer too little competently-produced news and are swamped with over-aggressive advertizing.

11 July. Monday, July 11, after a pro-Assad mob invaded the US embassy in Damascus, a personal attack on Syrian President Bashar Assad was heard in Washington for the first time. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Assad "is not indispensible and we have absolutely nothing invested in him remaining in power."

Assad's hooligans rampaged through the building, damaged equipment, raised the Syrian flag and smeared offensive graffiti on the walls. Syrian security officers stood by and did nothing.
DEBKAfile's intelligence sources reported that the ambassador, a small number of personnel on duty and the US Marines guarding the building took shelter in a fortified wing of the building behind concrete walls and steel doors equipped with supplies to sustain them for a week against a siege. They used a special video link to stay in touch with the situation room of the State Department in Washington. .

Five years ago, the American embassy in Damascus itself was attacked for the first time. On Sept. 13, 2006, al Qaeda detonated a bomb car outside the building as a gang of armed men tried to break in. Then, they failed to gain entry. This Monday was the first time a large number of intruders has ever managed to storm an American embassy and ambassadorial residential compound in the Middle East.

Gaza blockade in reverse: Hamas fortifies Egyptian border against Libyan infiltrators
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

11 July. Hamas complains about the Israeli and Egyptian blockades. However, bizarrely, while continuing its own smuggling operations underground, illicitly importing munitions, rockets and explosives for terrorist use, on the surface, Hamas is putting in place a rampart for blockading its own border with Egyptian Sinai, DEBKAfile reports. They are concerned by the spillover of post-revolutionary chaos from Egypt and Sinai and the new influx of fighters and smugglers from Libya. The Libyans and al Qaeda-linked Sinai Bedouin have gone into the smuggling tunnel business on their own account and are causing mayhem.

Hamas blames the unwelcome Libyans, housed by the "Army of Islam" (Al Qaeda affiliates) in the Gaza Strip and provided with shelter and food in the refugee camps around Gaza City, for the resurgence of rocket fire into Israel in violation of the informal ceasefire agreed with Israel four months ago.

A Palestinian work force is working overtime to throw up a fortified earthworks barrier 10-12 meters high and 14 kilometers long, running from the Rafah crossing up to the Mediterranean 50 meters inside Gaza territory.

Afghan President's half-brother's assassination attests to superior Taliban capabilities
DEBKAfile Special Report

12 July. Tuesday July 12, the day French President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived in Afghanistan, President Hamid Karzai's half-brother, Kandahar strongman Ahmad Wali, was shot dead by a bodyguard. This was no coincidence, DEBKAfile's sources note: It was Taliban's way of again refuting as unreal the accounts of the situation in Afghanistan presented by US, British and French leaders and parading its penetration of NATO and Afghan government's top counsels.
Four insurgent terrorist attacks in the two weeks since June 28 had these objectives.

One was the attack on the Kabul Intercontinental shortly before a top-secret high-level security conference. A US helicopter had to be called in to end their siege. The day before British Prime Minister David Cameron arrived in Afghanistan, a British soldier was abducted from his base in Helmund province and murdered. And the day Leon Panetta paid his first unannounced visit to Afghanistan as defense secretary, one of the bodyguards of a high-ranking deputy of Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security opened fire on a group of US military advisers and killed two of them.

US, French envoys to visit more anti-Assad protest hubs. First attack on Syrian oil infrastructure
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

13 July. After Hama, US and French ambassadors to Damascus Robert Ford and Eric Chevalier will Friday, July 15, try to reach the eastern Syrian oil town of Deir al-Zour on the Iraqi border to meet opposition leaders, although DEBKAfile's reports government forces are poised to stop them. The town is also a Sunni tribal and Kurdish center.

In a key policy shift, US President Obama Tuesday questioned Bashar Assad's legitimacy. And another first: A bomb blast damaged East Syrian gas pipelines.

Friday, July 15, the half a million dwellers of Deir al-Zour plan their fifth consecutive weekly anti-Assad rally, braving the two 9th Division tank brigades and commando units besieging the city and using live ammunition against them. If the ambassadors gain entry to this town, they will also make for another flashpoint Euphrates Valley city, the much smaller Abu Kemal (100,000).

The Libyan War is over. Obama makes Moscow peace broker. NATO halts strikes
DEBKAfile Exclusive

14 July. Bar the shouting, the Libyan war virtually ended Thursday morning, July 14, when US President Barack Obama called Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to hand Moscow the lead in peace negotiations for Muammar Qaddafi to step down and make way for a transitional administration. He thereby accepted the Russian-Libyan peace formula over NATO's heads.

Instead of standing in the dock in The Hague, Qaddafi and his sons will take their seats in talks for Libya's next regime, having waited out NATO's operation to unseat him.

By the time Obama called Medvedev, the individual governments which had spearheaded the anti-Qaddafi campaign were quietly melting away. From Saturday, July 9, NATO air strikes against Tripoli and government targets were discontinued; Italy withdrew its warplanes last week; France urged negotiations to start and the British defense secretary admitted his ground corps, naval and air forces do not have the means to continue the war.

NO ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE EXISTS IN HAWAII !!!

In an allegation that pushes the dispute over Barack Obama's presidential eligibility to a new level, an affidavit prepared to accompany a criminal complaint over the "Certificate of Live Birth" released April 27 suggests there was a plan to mislead the American public, and it went as high as the Oval Office.

"What I believe you are looking at is a classic example of an attempt at plausible deniability," wrote Doug Vogt, who has filed a criminal complaint that charges Obama's birth record is forged.

Vogt, who describes himself as an expert in documents, typesetting, imaging, scanners and document imaging programs and has owned Archive Index Systems since 1993, referenced the widely broadcast White House event when officials, including then-White House Counsel Robert Bauer and Obama's communications director Daniel Pfeiffer, released the purported Hawaiian "Certificate of Live Birth."

Jerome Corsi's new book, "Where's the Birth Certificate?," is now available for immediate shipping, autographed by the author, only from the WND Superstore.

"Everything that came out of the mouths of both these men and the president's was carefully orchestrated and scripted. It also implies that the president's contingency plan was that in case the forgery was detected, that one or both of them would take the blame," Vogt concluded.

He said in the affidavit, a copy of which was obtained by WND, "The preponderance of evidence leads me to conclude that the Certificate of Live Birth the White House presented at the 8:48 a.m. news conference (on April 27) and not mentioned on television an hour later is a forgery."

He continued, "A strong legal argument can be made that per U.S. Code Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 47, Sec.1028(a)(2 and 4) Mr. Pfeiffer and Mr. Robert Bauer could have made themselves principles in the forgery.

There is also the possibility that the director of the Department of Health in Hawaii knows much more about this forgery than she is telling.

If it is later proven in federal court that this Certificate of Live Birth issued by the Department of Health is a forgery, then any and all personnel involved with the forgery, would also be principles in the forgery.

Read the full analysis of the White House presentation.

"I am sure that there is someone at the Department of Health who searched their document imaging system to find the certificates that became the elements used to assemble the final Obama fraudulent Certificate. An FBI investigation in Hawaii will be necessary to get to the whole truth of this scandal," he said.

Obama is tied in to the plot, Vogt contends, through his speech shortly after the Hawaii document was released, in which he referenced "the old history of the Short Form certification" and then said, "We've posted the Certification that is given by the State of Hawaii on the Internet for everybody to see."

The president didn't reference the newly released "Certificate of Live Birth" unveiled at the news conference, Vogt writes, in his address that day.

What the White House released:

"Let me ask you a simple question," Vogt writes, "let's say you live in New York, and you were born in California and you want two copies of your Certificate of Live Birth, not because you need it for a passport application or any other legal reason, but just because you want to show it to some friends. So you pay your high priced lawyer to fly on a moment's notice to California and back again with your Certificate.

This whole process has cost you thousands. Are you going to want to see it and take possession of at least one of the Certificates? The obvious answer is YES. Next, read the answer given by Mr. Pfeiffer and Robert Bauer from the 8:48 a.m. news conference":

Question: And this is going to sound …. I mean, you can just anticipate what people are going to …. remain unconvinced. They're going to say that this is just a photocopy of a piece of paper, you could have typed anything in there. Will the actual certificate be on display or viewable at any …. (laughter.)

Will the president be holding it?

MR. PFEIFFER: He will not, and I will not leave it here for him to do so. But it will …. the State Department of Health in Hawaii will obviously attest that that is a …. what they have on file. As Bob said, it's in a book in Hawaii.

MR. BAUER: And you'll see the letter from the director of the Health Department that states that she oversaw the copy and is attesting to ….

"Plausible deniability refers to the denial of blame in loose and informal chains of command where upper leadership quarantine the blame to the lower management, and the lower management are often inaccessible, meaning confirming responsibility for the action is nearly impossible," Vogt said. "In the case that illegal or otherwise disreputable and unpopular activities become public, high-ranking officials may deny any awareness of such act or any connection to the agents used to carry out such acts. This method was used in the Nixon administration during the Watergate scandal to protect the president – it did not work then."

Case of fraud advances

Jerome Corsi, Ph.D., the author of "Where's The Birth Certificate," said Vogt "continues to advance the case that the Obama birth certificate was fraudulently contrived in an attempt to deflect the news cycle from the issues I raised in 'Where's the Birth Certificate?' – a book that was set to crush Obama on the eligibility issue, unless Obama responded."

Plans to make the Obama document public were being made just as Corsi's book reached No. 1 on Amazon, weeks ahead of the book's release.

"Unfortunately, rather than tell the truth, the White House rushed to get a forged document into the waiting hands of a compliant and loving mainstream media," Corsi said. "Rather than establish a chain of evidence that would establish the PDF file released on the White House website as legitimate, the Obama administration and the Hawaii DOH continued their dance, pretending it was impossible to release a long-form birth certificate."

Corsi said Vogt's analysis "shows not only that the Hawaii DOH remains complicit with the Obama White House in advancing the fraud that Obama was born in Hawaii, but also shows the cover-up is continuing."

"The public must now demand to see the 'best evidence' of the Obama birth certificate – namely, the document itself," he said.

Vogt's affidavit describes several specific concerns, including alleged anomalies in the image released to the public, Obama's dispatching of an attorney to travel to Hawaii for such a document and the careful language that was used to describe its acquistion.

What "waiver"?

Vogt cited Bauer's statement that, "Early last week the decision was made to review the legal basis for seeking a waiver from the long-standing prohibition in the state Department of Health on releasing the long-form birth certificate. And so we undertook a legal analysis and determined a waiver request could be made, that we had the grounds upon which to make that request."

The affidavit describes how Obama's private attorney, Judy Corley of the law firm of Perkins Coie, was dispatched to travel to Hawaii to retrieve the document.

Continued Bauer, "The department, as I understood it, after reviewing the law and reviewing the grounds asserted in the request, came to the conclusion that a waiver could be appropriately granted. We were advised that the long-form birth certificate could be copied and made available to us as early as Monday, April 25th – the day before yesterday. And we made arrangements for counsel to travel to Honolulu to pick it up and it was returned to the White House yesterday afternoon."

But Vogt notes Hawaii law requires, "Subject to the requirements of sections 338-16, 338-17, and 338-18, the Department of Health shall, upon request, furnish to any applicant a certified copy of any certificate."

"The law clearly states 'shall,' that does not mean maybe or 'out of the goodness of their hearts.' It means the Health Department must issue a copy of the Certificate of Live Birth not the Certification if requested. The Hawaiian law has a list of who can receive the Certificate and they include over 20 individuals, as well as government agencies."

He wrote that Loretta Fuddy, the chief of the health department, had announced an "exception" to departmental policy, even though other long-form certificates had been made available to others only weeks before Obama's request.

Which document?

Several forms of the birth document were distributed, including copied images handed out to reporters, the online image and an image taken by a selected reporter who was allowed to see the White House copy.

Vogt says the evidence indicates the "original" copy at the White House may have been a descendant of the online image, not the other way around.

He says the image distributed to media has the previously reported registrar's rubber stamp anomaly, with "TXE" instead of "THE." The reporter's image is from Savannah Guthrie of NBC, who was allowed to see one of the White House copies that "arrived from Hawaii".
"She claims she touched it and felt the raised seal, or what looks like a seal. This was important to Robert Bauer and company because the copy they showed the news people did not show any embossed seal.

So the White House handlers felt it necessary to have at least one reporter, they could trust, see and feel the Certificate. She was also permitted to take a photo of the Certificate, which we will assume was done by her camera phone, because the quality was not very good," Vogt explained.

The top image is from the Guthrie image, the bottom of from what was given to reporters. Both appear to have the "TXE" error.

Bottom image is from another document just a few weeks earlier that does not have the "TXE" error embedded.

Vogt notes several discrepancies, including an "italicized E" under the "A" in Alvin in the image given to reporters that appears not to be present in Guthrie's image. He concedes, however, it could be explained by the low-resolution of the latter image.

He notes that the PDF image that was uploaded from the White House, which reportedly was scanned from a hard copy, reveals it was created April 27 on a Mac computer.

"On the PDF file the italics "E" under the "A" in Alvin also shows up clearly. … That would mean that [the image given reporters and the PDF file] have a common origin.

"The most logical conclusion is that [the image given to reporters and the image from Guthrie] were produced from the same file, namely the PDF file. … The only way to know for sure would be to have the White House place both certificates next to each other and photograph or scan them."

Exactly the same

Further, he said, "What is interesting about these three images of the registrar's seal and the date stamp just to the left of it, is that all are in the exact same position to the hundredths of an inch and I mean both horizontally and vertically to the above form.

So you have two certificates [the copies the White House says came from Hawaii] with two hand applied rubber stamps on the bottom and a hand placed embossed seal applied by a machine and all three are in the exact same position.

It is impossible to put two forms next to each other and hand stamp them as shown and get all in exactly the same position, along with being placed almost perfectly straight on the two forms.

This could only be done with a graphics program like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Keep in mind the clerk or registrar has no reason or preference requirement to place these stamps in exactly the same position."

Vogt said, "The preponderance of evidence leads me to conclude that the Certificate of Live Birth, the White House presented at the 8:48 a.m. news conference and not mentioned on television an hour later, is a forgery."

Corsi said it's mostly likely that "there is no long-form birth certificate in the Hawaii DOH vault, or if there is one, it is a mere print-out of the PDF file."

"Very likely the PDF file is the 'best evidence' of the document, especially if all the paper documents of the Obama long-form birth certificate derive from that electronic file," Corsi said.

"Soon the American public will have compelling expert testimony that the Obama birth certificate was electronically manufactured and electronically modified – using as templates various authentic birth certificates, including the Nordyke twins' birth certificates," he said. "This crude forgery will not survive genuine forensic expert examination – but the White House will continue lying – and showing the one copy with the 'seal' only to a trusted press photographer that the White House knew would not ask any critical questions."

Custody

Vogt also pointed to the chain of custody for the physical documents that the White House said it got from the state of Hawaii, brought to Washington Obama's attorney and then handed over to the White House. But unknown is who created the online image that many experts believe shows evidence of manipulation.

Corsi points out that the government's own guidelines for accepting the authenticity of an electronic document features a long list of conditions.

The Government Printing Office "will inform users about a publication's integrity and chain of custody through the designation of at least 2 different levels of authentication, 'authentic' and 'official.'

GPO defines 'authentic' as content that is verified by GPO to be complete and unaltered when compared to the version received by GPO. 'Official' content is content that is approved by, contributed by, or harvested from an official source in accordance with accepted program specifications," the government outlines.

Such provenance has yet to be offered regarding the White House document, he explains.

When the White House released Obama's document in April, officials with the Hawaii Department of Health and the office of Gov. Neal Abercrombie declined to respond to WND requests for a simple confirmation that the image released in Washington was an accurate representation of the information in the state's files.

COMMENT

Listen to the idiot Obots still trying to defend their little Communist God from all those honest Americans who are trying as hard as they can to save our Country and protect our Freedom.

"TXE" is not "THE" and this is from a rubber stamp! Hawaii would not keep and continue to use a rubber stamp that the stamp manufacturer cast with "THE" misspelled "TXE"!

Nobody can misspell a word on a rubber stamp accidentally as they ink and then stamp it.

The document that the "TXE" appears on had to have been redacted by a computer program.

The fact nobody caught this obvious typo shows just how childish and inept these people really are. The "TXE" mistake shows without a doubt the image has been altered and is not a actual copy of any actual document.

If one part has been redacted one has to at least wonder what else is not real. Be leery of all these Obots that fill these blogs with disinformation. Some are paid to do so. Some have several people posting under one name as they post 24-7. This group is organized and well funded. Believe not one word they type - our Freedom is at stake.

Now lets simplify this discussion and make it simple enough for any 5th grader, even one from a democRAT family.

If your daddy was a Kenyan Brit, you can never be fit for the office of POTUS

No Birth Certificate, or Certificate of Live Birth needed. Just A2. S1. p5. of our Great Old Constitution. If your father was not an American Citizen at the time of your birth you are not a A2. S1. p5. Natural Born American Citizen.

All the rest is simply smoke and mirrors trying to distract you from this simple truth.

All spin and no truth! Wake Up America. Foreigners can not be President. Certainly not British Subjects. Google (John Jay, George Washington, Natural Born.)

(By the way John Jay was our 1st Supreme Court Chief Justice). Rember - The Truth Will Set You Free! America needs a big dose of the Truth - Right About NOW!
