Iraq Situation Will Appear in Iran after Mullahs Gone

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2125729,00.html

For those of you who have thought about, insisted or even acted on turning the Iranian military and getting them to join in the overthrow of the Mullahs, read this article and see why I have always been saying you are following a pipe dream. Other than perhaps philosophically, intellectually or perhaps academically as a "debate" rather than a true option. In the real world, the fears of this happening to them - by a very angry populace with a long memory of the abuse and little or no forgiveness in their hearts - will block 90% of the current military of all kinds, specially the Pasdarans, Basijis, Ghods etc., from turning on their current masters.

Nor will they trust an offered amnesty to hold firm in the face of the hatred that will be unleashed when the Mullahs are no longer there as protection.

Do try to think straight and not be fooled by such officers or personnel hedging their bets - "just in case" when they talk to you.

Instead of the Badr Brigade in Iraq it is most likely to be the Mojaheddin (MEK) who carry out the retaliations in Iran - once "democracy" lets them back in.
